Okay... there is ALOT going on here.... First off... EMMA BABY NO!!!!!!

*ahem* secondly Scott Killing the Professor (my nephew/godson's nick name is Professor!:() can't say this is really all that surprising... i think they have been building towards this since even before this event. and honestly... i think it actually hit the right chords with me. (though Xavier yelling at scott seemed out of place... he started off the benevolent father figure and then went right to scolding... had scott killed him while he was STILL acting like the benevolent father, it would have had more of an impact... imho, though like i said... it still struck a chord)

Scott saying: Why did you Make me do this? Why couldn't you just leave it alone? Are you happy now captain? (honestly in my head i was thinking "Yes Marvel... are you happy now? ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?" and then cap saying "It's over" there is just... i don't know if this is Meta, or it's just me putting it in here... because this is how i feel... Cyclops has been utterly destroyed... God knows whats going to happen to Emma. Avengers will be Occupying/"Reaching out" to the Mutants now.... i just... god, it's been a mess... i really wish Whedon was wrting this, at least THEN it would have some pathos....

i feel like i have more to say.... but i am still processing this....

From what I read, Emma isn't dead. Cyclops basically subdues her and takes her portion of the Phoenix Force. But she basically knew Scott was thinking about remaking the world, and it escalated from there.

Reference to Civil War? The thing that was handled COMPLETELY wrong? With all the wrong methods, and use of villains... even the one who caused the entire issue in the first place?

The Phoenix Five on the other hand, are almost blameless if you really expect a mere mutant that isn't Rachel Grey to control the Phoenix 100% without any issue. These are different situations. The first spun out of control because the people in charge let it.

The second was a matter of two parties dealing with something that was beyond anyone's control. It was truly an issue of communication.

While I'm aware the situation is very different, I still can't help but cringe at Scott being all "Why'd you make me hit you!" since it reminds me too much of Superboy-Prime, that whiny overpowered teenager who blamed his mass murdering on everyone but himself.

Also has it already been pointed out that this Charles Xavier is NOT the man who raised Cyclops? The man who raised Cyke was rendered brain dead by a bullet to the head from Bishop. The guy who died is a reincarnation of that man with no emotional attachment to those memories and point of fact it was revealed in X-men Legacy he doesn't he have all the original's memories.

Oh, Marvel. What the hell are you doing to your franchises? I AM for the Avengers during this story arc for reasons I'll get into if someone asks, but this shouldn't have been done this way. The X-Men aren't villains, and while the Avengers have a sort-of shaky history on dealing with crises, I feel like both Cap and Cyclops would have sat down and hashed each of their concerns and/or desires without making it this giant mess. Cyclops feels like he's been hung out to dry, yes, but the Avengers and the X-Men have a really good background helping one another out in the past. They have no reason to be at each other's throats like they have been this entire story arc.

This really made me angry at Cyclops, how he choked Emma until the phoenix left her. Just another example of Scott treating his girlfriends poorly.

And New Avengers#30 kinda spoils how this ends, since it takes place after AvX.

I don't like Scott, I have a genuine hate for Emma, and at the moment I have little sympathy for the X-men. So despite the crappy story telling this event is going pretty well in my book in terms of the fallout. Sucks Prof X died though. He'll be back, all of these characters will be back...within the year.

Xavier won't be coming back any time soon, they were hardly using him as it is. AvX has been is first appearance in awhile.

Honestly to see people still blaming the Avengers...I'm sorry but..no I'm not sorry, I'm gonna be blunt, that is 100% straight up BULLSHIT!

More than once I stated why I sided with Avengers, but I wasn't so naive as to not notice their faults. And even with X-Men, I didn't support their side but knew just where they were coming from. I had so much respect for Cyclops for taking on all this weight, to lead an endangered people, to make decisions that were not always going to be popular. In terms of survival, he is what the mutants needed. Socially, not so much.

But seriously to put all the blame on the Avengers? Are you fucking kidding me?! Regardless of who the hell started it and who provoked who, you cannot blame the Avengers because Cyclops up and decided he wanted to barbecue Professor X!!! How is it that you can twist it so that it's the fault of others? Even without the interference of the Avengers, the cracks have shown in the Phoenix Five. All you have to do is look at what the hell Emma's been up to!! The cracks were showing and the type of personalities the characters possessed...how in the hell do you think it's a good idea for the Phoenix to have possesd them anyway?!
If anything, I thought Cyclops would be able to handle it a little better. That he wouldn't be as corrupted as his intention is about protecting the mutants, but then again he's been getting closer to trading in his visor for magneto's helmet.

So tell me just how you can justify the X-Men? No not the X-Men. The Phoenix Five. I'm not going to throw in all of the X-Men as some have shown good sense and even though I didn't totally agree with their side, I can see they had noble intentions, but war has blinded them. Blood has gotten too hot on both sides and brought out some real ugliness.

All in all, I'm seriously pissed the fuck off and not at the book, but the reactions. First the Wakanda incident. Oh it's the Avengers fault. It's Black Panther's fault that his people were endangered because he's an Avenger!! BULL. SHIT. Emma Frost is forcing people to worship her. Whose fault is that? She executes a guy in front of his family for a crime he commited years ago. He shouldn't have gotten away with it but damn..how about making him pay for his crime? Having him arrested and put on trial? Or hell at the very least..don't kill him right in front of his family. Now Cyclops kills Professor Xavier. It's Captain America's fault. It's the Avengers fault. Bull. SHIT! Cap and the Avengers didn't whisper in his ear and tell him to kill the Professor.

You can argue with your "If he/she haven't done this.." "If he/she didn't do that.." if, if, if, if IF! You can talk about how if certain things haven't happened or have happened till your blue in the face. There's gonna be some blame, there's responsbility to be taken sure, but do not pretend that it's 100% solely on the Avengers! At the end of the day people are responsible for their own actions. And hell if you want to blame anything..well shit, do the usual. Blame it on the near omnipotent entity that boosts personalities and primal urges as comcis always do! Otherwise...don't hand me bullshit. I can't stand when people can't seem to be held accountable for the shit THEY'VE DONE!

1) never said the X-Men were not at fault at all. There is blame to go around.

2) I actually do blame the fact that the phoenix magnified both positive and negative traits I'm the hosts. Emma was trying to fight it. Hell even cyclops and.colossus was trying to fight it.

3)I hold more blame on the avengers than on the x men because the x men have been marvel's proverbial whipping but for years. Because like it or not the x-men represent minorities and the avengers represent those in power.

4) just like you side more with the avengers,.I side more with the x men. Cap threw the first punch from what I remember. Hey came into a recognized country and didn't try to negotiate, he tried ti tell them what to do.

The truth of this matter is. I don't like this story, no one comes out of this looking like heroes, but the avengers always will. Because the avengers, by marvel's.standards can do no wrong. The characterization is off all over the place, no one should come out of this looking good

Oh god, now SCOTT is actually using the phrases fans have used to excuse the P5's actions. "It's not my fault! The Avengers MADE me!"

For god's sake, there is a reason why 'they hit me first' stops working after you've turned five. The Avengers may or may not have bungled the beginning of the conflict but even if someone is being an ass you still don't have the right to pretend that others are FORCING you to do something. Especially AFTER you've been given godlike power. The Avengers may have made him react, but it's entirely up to him to what actions to make.

And now he's killed someone that was only begging him to stop. Someone please tell me how those meanie Avengers 'made' him do that.

Here's my interpretation: the Avengers were 100% right. Their position was that they didn't trust Hope to be able to control the Phoenix. And she wouldn't have, not with this version of the Phoenix. Scott Summers, the master of repression and self-control, couldn't control Phoenix, and he's probably one of the best candidates in the Marvel Universe to be a Phoenix host. Scott's been possessed by Apocalypse and the Void, and come out on top. Hope, on the other hand, didn't have much issue with exploiting her control of the Five Lights. Cyclops stood a far better chance of controlling Phoenix than Hope, and he failed.

Did the Avengers needlessly provoke the Phoenix Five? Possibly. It doesn't matter, though. Sooner or later, someone would have opposed the P5. MU Earth faces supervillains attacks and alien invasions on a weekly basis. Conflict was inevitable, and the P5 responded to their first real opposition with genocide and imprisonment in hell.

Agreed. There is a lot of sympathy for the Phoenix 5 and I just don't understand it. How can someone defend a group that resulted to imprisoning, executing, and oppressing without an consideration or trial (for the first two.)
