Well shit. This is enough to draw me back in after I had given up on this title.

Not gonna lie, though; I wish George Perez had drawn this cover for the fact that he draws Helena better as the Huntress. I will however say that this cover is definitely better than the last one we saw from Kevin Maguire, but his Huntress still looks bizarre to me. Here she looks like she has a squared jaw and I don't think the way he draws the Huntress mask helps.

(And of course, between Damian and Helena, Helena would be drawn with half of her arse showing...)

So Damian and Helena are teaming-up to fight a were-racoon, that should be... interesting. (I'm not that big a Damian fan tbh, especially after that whole thing with Jason in the Batman and Robin title.)

I just sight measured, but I think one of Damian's legs is longer than the other. Same with Helena's. Plus Damian's neck and how it connects to the head looks... interesting.

Damian looks very feminine, when I saw this as a thumbnail on another sight I thought it was Helena as Huntress and Robin side by side. It just didn't parse as Damian too me. It might be that I'm used to him being shorter.
Also, honestly I have no interest in seeing Damian interact with anyone, if someone can post the scans whenever Helena gets around to interacting with Bruce that'd be swell, but beyond that I'm not invested in this.

In a way, I think it makes more sense for her to interact with Damian first--dealing with the other biological kin of Bruce Wayne and all that. I think meeting up with dad is something they should kind-of build up to--I want it to be a BIG deal for the both of them.

They both look kind of oddly proportioned, don't they? Like if they stood up straight, their legs would be too long for their bodies. The perspective on the arms doesn't work either; they just look like they're all different sizes. And Damien's head looks like it can do a 360 degree spin. This cover is definitely not a win. Here's hoping the issue itself is better.

Yeah, the art I've seen from MacGuire all looks a bit off. I like the general style though, so I hope he improves over time.

Everything's not right with her hair! It looks like snakes, and there's about three times as much hair as any human being needs. Medusa!Huntress.

And while I'm whining about this, may I just mention that the lantern jaw there is not a good look, either...

Makes sense--last issue was the fight, now we get the team-up (of course, we'll probably get a bit of the team-up in the issue before, but cover-wise).

Is it just me, or does the spikey things on her mask seem to be completely absent? From what I remember, they always kinda stuck up higher than the hair. Either Damian sliced them off very cleanly, or Maguire made a boo-boo with the costume design.

One he didn't know about until he was ten, the other he STILL doesn't know about as she's from another dimension. He doesn't know she's alt-Bruce's daughter and I'm not even sure Huntress would know Damian is Bruce's kid.

Seems to be more like a deranged amnesiac Brady Bunch concept more than anything.

Helena's first instinct would be that a 'Robin' on this Earth would be the child of this Earth's Batman (and Catwoman), just that the gender was wrong. I can't wait till she finds out that it's a summer internship!

This is a very ugly cover - I must say, the art they're using on World's Finest is just poor, doesn't give it a feeling of quality or epicness.

I've honestly not been as bothered by the art as I have been with the writing, but Kevin Maguire is an artist that's very hit and miss with me. I do think he draws a great Power Girl and a great Helena in both her civilian and Robin identities, but his Huntress doesn't do it for me. I think it's just the way he draws her costume that feels very off to me. There's also the fact that his anatomy can be off as well, like sometimes he'll draw one leg bigger than the other, or female faces will look too squared and masculine-looking, and then his proportions will be drawn very awkwardly as well, like on his variant cover for WF #1.
