okay.... the joker is legitimately creeping me the hell out...

Normally I would think this is sort-of a prelude cover thing--but since this is the middle of the story, that does seem to be what they're linking to. Maybe Joker creates some slow moving toxin that they have to find cures for?

On one hand, those are some creepy covers--on the other hand, the way a lot of them are smiling makes me think of the Bat-Family doing <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLPZmPaHme0>The Creep</a>, which is still disturbing, and yet kinda funny. The Batman #17 cover's really good--it's interesting how, no matter how horrifying he looks, Joker seems to fit really well doing these tango covers...

Not to my knowledge. Lobo took on Wolverine and lost during one of the last Marvel/DC crossovers, which was done before you had the likes of Quesada and Didio in charge. At that time, they hadn't realised you could shill Deadpool for all he's worth.

Truth to be said, most of the covers do not seem interesting at all with the exception of the last one. Joker dancing with the Batman cowl seems fitting for this kind of unholy relationship.

Yeah, that last one.. THAT'S the Joker alright. In his morbid and absurd and horrifying glory. And because in it's twisted way, it's a funny image. But you can feel the SCREAMS coming out of the image, too....

His face is also the least messed-up of all of them. He kinda looks like Simon from Misfits.

His skin is as white as pure, unblemished, fallen snow! His cheekbones are so awesomely sculpted, like a greek god (or a certain sparkly vampire who shall remain nameless *cough*Edward*cough*)! His lips are of such a vibrant red! And you really can't find teeth as straight and white as that!

I haven't been reading the Nu52 Batman but I picked up the Death of the Family comic yesterday for the cover alone. It was a little underwhelming but not bad. But these covers knock that one out of the park. Especially the last one. I would love a poster for that. I think the Batman and Robin one is a little adorable though.

It's an okay idea for an event but did they really have to take the name from Death in the Family. It's one thing to reuse ideas but to recycle ideas, that is too much.

Given the idea seems to be to obliterate all the ties Batman has generated, I think 'Death Of The Family' is a perfect title. It's about destroying those bonds, from the oh-so-perfect 'you were meant to be Batgirl' Barbara Gordon to the four Robins in around five years, to Alfred himself.

So it's basically going to be Return of the Joker but with the whole Bat family instead of just Tim Drake.
