Marvel Point-One: Scott Lang's REVENGE!!!

The funny thing is that Doom is big enough of an egomaniac that he will consider this a big deal.

Seriously, Doom is going to kill people over this.

Although, It speaks for Scott's character that his massive revenge for the death of his daughter against Doom is to graffiti Doom's artwork.

I can imagine an entire comic series based around Ant-Man trolling Doom.

Well yeah, its just the start. But I kind of doubt Killing Doom is going to be the endgame if he's starting with drawing mustaches on his portraits.

(SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT FOR ALPHAS)

I mean compare and contrast Dr. Rosen from the Sy Fy series Alphas, who is in a similar situation: His daughter murdered by the immortal Stanton Parish. What does Rosen do? He starts cracking down on Parish's operation, taking out his agents, torturing them for info, kidnapping a guy he was using to store sentimental memories, wiping his mind of said memories, BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE HE GREW UP IN.

See, with Rosen, I have no doubt that Rosen's endgame is to kill Parrish, With Scott, I don't think he has it in him. His endgame is probably to keep trolling Doom in a very public matter until he makes him look like a joke in the world community (Which, for Doom, would be a fate worse than death).

I hope this happens and Doom just decides to resurrect Cassie to get Scott to stop trying to humiliate him.

If that's how Fraction's FF ends, how long until somebody complains about how Doom can bring back the dead, but he can't heal a bullet wound for an old lady?

Yea. And in a way, that's more impressive. It's not 'he doesn't have it in him' in the normal, 'he wants to but can't' sense. It's just, that's not Scott Lang.

Plus its also kind of genre savvy on Scott's part.

I mean remember, Doom is the guy who LITERALLY FOUGHT HIS WAY OUT OF HELL AND BACK TO EARTH. For Doctor Doom, Death is pretty much a firm suggestion at best.

Scott is smart enough to realize he's never going to be able to kill Doom even if he wanted too, so he'll do the next best thing: Wound his pride.

Yea. Also, trying to kill Doom doesn't *hurt* Doom. It's what he expects, it fits into his self-image as a mighty lord who defeats his enemies and is occasionally challenged by a particularly worthy one.

Graffiti is out of his paradigm.

Doom is an extreme example of my hypothesis that paranoia is just another form of egotism: if you were not very important they would not be out to get YOU.

So in Doom's universe, of course ALL are out to get him.

Considering Scott Lang nearly shot a man who kidnapped Cassie, I can see him kill Doom if given the chance.

But that's the problem with the very premise of this series. There is no way Marvel will allow Doom to be killed off for real. So any victory Lang achieves will be short lived.

And as a character, Lang is defined by his relationship with his daughter. His origin and motivation can be boiled down to "save Cassie." That's what separates Cassie Lang from a Lian Harper, Lian isn't tied to Roy's origin and motivation as Cassie is. (And Cassie had the good sense to become a costumed adventurer before they offed her. Raises her odds at winning in the resurrection casino.)

I don't know how Fraction's ending his FF run. But with the Ant-Man movie finally in development (although no word if it will use Hank Pym or Scott Lang. The rumors from years ago were the movie would focus on Lang's origin), I don't think it's likely that father and daughter will be reunited with Doom killing Scott Lang.
