“This has been a passion project of mine for some time now, and for anyone that’s followed my work, I’m sure it’s more of an ‘its about time!’ explained Dustin Nguyen. “The look and style is a slight departure from my usual (think the exact opposite of serious), but the idea has always been the same—to take our favorite existing Gotham characters, place them in fun scenarios without having to be tied to just one continuity or look and feel. It’s basically a Batman book for fans, by two huge fans.”

Derek Fridolfs shares his collaborator’s sentiment. “At times in various platforms, Batman has been extremely dark and taken very seriously,” he elaborated. “So respectfully, we’re going in the opposite direction and having a bit of whimsical fun with a whole city of characters beloved by fans and especially ourselves. Li’l size...big enjoyment.”

So, from the sound of it, think an alternate take on The Black Cat's Holidays in the DCUverse series, and there are MUCH worse templates than that! :)

Someone must have been distracting Didio from this one really well in the DC offices. I wouldn't be surprised if, like, we suddenly heard news of a Steph-starring story being pulled and the guy shoves his obnoxious face out there on the internets again going "GWWARRFKFDLKKLFLFDTHATWASNEVERMEANTTOHAPPEN - NEVER MEANT TO HAPPEN - NEVER MEANT TO HAPPENNNNNNNNN! BARBARA GORDONNN FOREVERRRR YOOOO!'

But as it is, this is a totally pleasant surprise. I liked the Lil' Gotham backups they did before, so this - combined with the fact Nguyen's doing his sweet watercolours on interiors, and hey, Steph! - is going to make this really sweet.

So is this a proper digital comic that you have to pay for, or is it more like a webcomic sort of thing? I've seen some of this stuff but am not really clear on what is it beyond amazing.

They're doing initial digital releases, which will later be printed and sold. :)

Wow, there are so many little birds in this picture. And I see something new everytime I look at it. I didn't even notice Clayface till I'd looked at it a few times. The chicks dressed like Batman and Robin on the bottom are adorable as well. Killer Croc crushing on Poison Ivy is quite cute as well. That makes me think, have those two ever teamed up? I feel they could kind of get along. What with Ivy not really liking people and Croc being at the point where he isn't really seen as being human most of the time. They seem like they'd both be cool with just hanging out in a swamp/rainforest or something where they could be left alone.

Actually, Killer Croc has shown to have a crush on Ivy in John Francis Moore's Batman: Poison Ivy from '97. A doctor tells Batman that the two formed a rapport during a group therapy session.

This rapport is actually brought up again in Hush of all places, with Croc putting trust in Ivy to split the ransom money with him, a decision which ends of biting him in the ass.

And there's also the fact that they've both corresponded with Swamp Thing at one time or another, with Croc actually living with Swampy for awhile in Louisiana, and the connection to the Green and Ivy and Swampy share.

So, yeah, there are far more connections between the two than most people think.

The initial premise may sound like a turn-off, but the writers of this round robin fic manage to make it work brilliantly.
