Introducing the Cheetah!
Jun. 4th, 2009 07:18 pmI'm going backwards through the posts on my own LJ, which is why I made the last Cheetah post first. I should've posted this, the first Cheetah story, first, but I didn't think of it. Sorry.
Wonder Woman has never developed the kind of rogues' gallery that her two big brothers have, but the Cheetah may be her most popular villain - I know she's a favorite of mine. Here is the Cheetah's first appearance, from Wonder Woman #6, 1943.
Wonder Woman's performing to raise money for the war effort.

A society girl who collects antique bondage equipment. How blatant can this series get? Also, how can I get her phone number?

In her jealousy, Priscilla stealthily swipes the golden lasso and ties Wonder Woman up with it.

Yeah, French teeth aren't as strong as Amazon teeth. Especially, you know, pre-dentistry peasant-class French teeth.
This is where my icon comes from:

Alas, not as much fun in context.
Now for some psychobabble:

The Cheetah follows Wonder Woman home - to Diana Prince's apartment, mind you. Turns out Wondy sleeps in her tiara.

So Priscilla tips off the cops, and they find the loot in Diana Prince's apartment. As Diana Prince, she is questioned, and says that Wonder Woman spent the night with her. *koff*

"Oh, I'd love to wear handcuffs!"

I wasn't aware that cheetahs' words were especially sacred.
