During the classic Beta Ray Bill storyline, during Walt Simonson's run, Odin removed the spell that caused Thor to turn into Don Blake. Without a civilian identity but continuing to live on Midgard to protect humans, he asks Nick Fury to help him get a new human identity:

I would love to see this seen play out in one of the upcoming Marvel movies. Especially if they got Dean Cain or Brandon Routh to play "Clark"

Amazement that they managed to pull that off, I can't read a single word from Fury's mouth without imagining it in a strong stereotypical southern accent for some reason. Must be because of the overdose of phonetic spelling they were using, and how insane he seems to come off, but for some reason, I'm picturing him as Sarge from Red vs Blue now.

This used to be a running thing in Marvel. 616 Clark was hanging around the fringes of the super-community for a while. I'm pretty sure he danced with She-Hulk once.

Fury and Odin were *much* friendlier in Simonson's run. It's a little disconcerting to the modern reader.
