Avatar: the Search - Part 1 Preview

Buzzfeed have been given a preview of the next part in the Airbender sequel, though the thing itself doesn't come out until April.

"Bad Decision Lord" is probably one of the most accurate Zuko titles I've ever heard.

I really hope they bring Ty Lee along as Azula's chaperone.

Well she is one of Zuko's bodyguards, so it's entirely possible.

I hope she wears her old garb or a distinct variation of the basic armor.

How many Avatar comics are we gonna get? Not that I'm complaining, but, man, I feel so spoiled.

Well there's the Lost Adventures trade, which collects the strips from Nick Magazine that took place during, before and just after the tv show. There's the Promise Trilogy, which takes place shortly after the end of season three and is the official sequel to the show as it lays the groundwork for Legend of Korra.

Whether there'll be more after the Search Trilogy depends on how well the new series sells. :)

This feels less like something that exists in the shows universe and more like fan-fiction written for those who thought Azula and Zuko were total woobies.

Well judging from the end of the last series and the rest of the preview, Azula's personality is pretty much the same... just not ACTIVELY trying to murder people, as yet.

The previous storyline involved Zuko trying to get over his massive inferiority complex, which wasn't helped by him landing in a unique political situation that there wasn't a straight answer to and by people, including his friends, assuming he'd gone evil when he didn't do what he said he would (turf people out of their homes on the basis that Aang and the Earth King thought that Fire Nation people should live in their own country, even if they've indermarried with the locals and established lives in the colonies).

A bit more complicated than "awww, they've had it so tough! Ignore all their faults!".

The Promise was awesome, and I'm excited by the Search. It's so good to read licensed comic sequels, and have them sound exactly like the show.

(Also I totally though Sneers and Kori were Avatar's first official lesbian couple. I've seen the whole series multiple times and didn't realise Sneers was a guy until I looked it up. *shamed*)

Well Grey Deisle did say that Azula and Ty Lee were in a relationship lately...

Same. That's actually why I thought all the characters they met initially acted surprise to see them together before quickly giving an immediate gesture of approval to Sneers, which I thought was a pretty cool way to show that the Avatar universe was accepting about that.

Then at the last book I realized it was just cause Sneers was a guy and they thought he was not good-looking enough.

I actually like that Zuko's smart enough to ask his friends to come help him. This way he knows he's not alone in keeping an eye on Azula, gets to keep his word to her, and has some chance of stopping her if or more likely when, she decides to betray him.
