Brainiac has sealed Metropolis inside an impervious dome. Simultaneously, another powerful alien has abducted Superman, Wonder Woman, Superboy, Capt. Atom and Capt. Marvel to the moon. (And would have abducted Icon too if real world legal hijinks hadn't forced his removal from the story arc at the last minute.) What else could go wrong?

There might be two crises brewing, but that's not diverting Nightwing from his efforts to recruit Jaime Reyes into the Team.











On the moon, Superboy and the four Justice League heavy hitters come face-to-face with their abductor and captor.

The show is coming back (though this may be the last season as CN don't know how to get money out of it) but the comic ends in a month or two.

As I recall, Icon was foisted off as part of the "cooperative delegation"

The rumor I heard was that it was partly the reason why the show was pulled that quick (the Static cameo), and WB and Milestone had to work out some contract stuff after McDuffie's passing, but it was all settled. From what I remember, DC's said that Milestone stuff will be coming back in a big way in '13.

Love the way this series just encapsualtes other events going on at the same time without making a big deal of it, like Batman and Robin just standing around in something which is so obviously a good old fashioned Two-Face hideout!

And Alfred is awesome in any incarnation... I wouldn't even be sure whether he was joking or not...

My first thoughts when I saw that Gotham panel were "Well, this is either a clever Two-Face allusion, or someone is into some REALLY kinky stuff."

And I love the casual nods and clever winks of this universe. Just "oh hey, here's this panel and this name drop to let you know these characters are around too. And Jason Todd was here. Just thought you should know."

Can someone please explain to me what all of this legal stuff between DC and Milestone is about? I thought Milestone was created under DC as an imprint of DC (and still owned by DC), so why are they having all of these legal problems with each other?

Nope, Milestone Media was an entirely separate company, which made a distribution and licensing deal with DC. This arrangement was modified to allow the Milestone characters to be folded into the DC continuity (and allow DC to reprint the appearances of MIlestone characters even if they lost the right to make new comics with them.)

As to the current problems, I would venture that with the death of Dwayne McDuffie, who was both Milestone's co-owner and their main "can talk to DC" buy, the new management is less than impressed with DC's use of the characters and trying to renegotiate the deal.

I get ridiculously excited any time Tim gets airtime or panel space. I am also bummed that this series was cancelled, because it's the only current DC title that I'm buying monthly.

Ummm... no. The story is told in two time frames; now and five years ago, but the bubble has only just been created in the now.

There's something very nice about how pragmatic The Team and the League are with writing text messages to each other through the dome. Though sadly, going by who we see in the Krolotean cell in the season 2 pilot, I think Bumblebee is miles off with claiming Noor Harjavti will be fine.

And the cast is able to shatter my heart multiple times, but that's nothing new.

I may have to get into this title, if only for nostalgic reasons: the crystalline alien abducting superheroes to use as weapons was an antagonist Weisman and Bates used in an issue of Captain Atom years ago.
