In most superhero universes, it's established that the tradition of superheroes dates back to 1940s and Word War II. It's so common that it's kind of cliche these days. So it's nice to see a comic taking a different approach to its fictional backstory.

So we have Glory, Ernest Hemmingway, Gertrude Stein and Pablo Picaso on a team?

God, that's amazing.

It could only be better if it were Alice B. Toklas providing the coup de grĂ¢ce rather than Picasso.

Ah, Fantomas, a character I know virtually nothing about, but nonetheless think is just smashing.
I believe this series is wrapping now, or at least very soon, I hope someone will post some more pages of it given the quality the series is supposed to have.

Hunh - sorta surprised to see a Fantomas reference. Happy - but surprised.

I also am digging the art.

Evidently, Pablo Picasso finds less opportunities for hand-to-hand than Gertrude Stein.

Errr... if that was really Fantomas wouldn't the version they captured be one of the investigating detectives that he'd captured, drugged and dressed as himself so he'd get executed in Fantomas' place?

Also, as awesome as the crime fighting team are, they'd probably bring some terrible wrath upon Paris for this. Like plague rats on a cruise-liner type wrath.

Still fun. :)

They should have gone with Lupin, just as recognizable but considerably more likely to take defeat in stride.

oh good someone else who knows this character

...Yeah. That's much more Fantomas' speed. Not sure why he would be running around the rooftops of Paris like a Batman villain instead of just ripping off/putting on a disguise and disappearing into a crowd.

Oh well - it was still nice to see a ref to a series I'm currently enjoying the hell out of.

Love that Fantomas' first appearance homages this:

Someone did their homework. And appears to be a fan of "Hark! A Vagrant!", I believe. :)

I was thinking more Toulouse-Lautrec or maybe other French artists of the period.

Good stuff. It seems the creators read Nick Bertozzi's The Saloon.

Also, is that Albert Einstein telling the story?

This is, without question, the greatest superteam of all time. Hands down.

But forgive me, its consistent so I'm not sure if it's intentional, but what's up with that girl's face?

Yeah, I was going to ask about that as well. The rest of the art looks lovely, but her eyes just look... wrong. As if her face is dented or something.

I think the color chocie for the girl is the big problem. Those dark circles abover her eyes look all wrong.

Glory is a really good series but unfortunately, it's ending soon. There are only 4 issues left and the last one will be out in March.
