[personal profile] spikespeigel posting in [community profile] scans_daily
Been about a week and I still can't believe no one's posted this yet. I'm sad to see this book go and I probably won't be picking up the Marvel NOW spin-offs, because Remender's run was so good that I can't see the other two titles coming close to this. There were more than four pages that I wanted to post, but I posted these four since it's one of the moments I really wanted to happen. Let's just say, I'd read a Deadpool title if it was with this Wade. But I have a feeling that the new Deadpool title will gloss over the growth that Remender showed for Deadpool during his UXF run. In any case, I'll let the scans speak for themselves. The set-up. Uncanny X-Force just prevented the world from being destroyed by the new Apocalypse (I won't say how, but Deadpool is pivotal to the outcome), and Deadpool and Evan (the Apocalypse clone) have a talk about what's happened. Enjoy!

So, that's what happened to Sam from 'Clarissa Explains It All'.

It's the moments like these that make me like Wade, not the monkeycheese bullshit.

The way I look at it ,its always been there underneath it all, just nobody ever tries to do anything real with it. Whenever it comes up (outside of this book) its usually just to drive another absurd story point. I love crazy ridiculous Wade. Even when he was everywhere in every book, I never got tired of him. But there is so much potential for him to be more on top of that.

I'm hoping that someone can explain what that last scene is supposed to mean, because it really just comes out of nowhere and doesn't make a lick of sense, IMO.

I thought one of those 'Playguy' magazine covers said Playgirl for a second, and I was impressed that Wade thought to provide him with some variety.

That's what I read at first too. I thought he as hedging his bets, just in case.

And yet, not a single picture of Bea Arthur.

If you want those issues, you'll have to pry them out of Wade's cold, dead hands.

Nice, very very nice. It's also kind of cute how that scene is so sweet and yet manages to have a crude little joke at the end there.
I didn't read this whole series, I think I'm gonna have to change that as soon as I get a chance. And I hope they get Phil Noto on another book toute suite, his art is wonderful.

An idea of a place to put Phil Noto that I loved was All-New X-Men, since he's done so many of the 60s Marvel stuff, using these "retro" characters in the modern day would look awesome.

Just awesome.

Does a good job, also, of explaining Wade's more determinedly heroic bent in his own (new) series: he's been called a hero and now he wants to live up to it.

That's going to be my head canon, anyway.

This feels even better remembering that fight Wade had with Logan after their first encounter with kid!Apocalypse (not Evan). It just makes so much sense.

This was just about the only good thing about the last issue.

The stuff with Psylocke and Fantomex is always so forced

I did like how they brought Fantomex back, though--it explained the Lady Fantomex we've been seeing in the relaunch covers, and it brings the character back in a way that makes his death still matter and brings up new stories for the future.

Best X-Book in years, hands down. I'm going to really miss it, and hope that Marvel respond to the fan enthusiasm and sales with an Omnibus or two (hey, I never would have expected Secret Warriors to get one).

For a moment there I was hoping Wade left Evan some Deadpool trade paperbacks.

But porn is good, to.

I loved the early issues of this run but then I couldn't keep up. It's great to see Wade more mature. Remender and Way really had a good handle on him. I can't say I'm interested in the new Marvel NOW Deadpool series. It feels like it's really jumping the shark when actual comedians have been brought in to write a Deadpool comic. It feels like it's going to to cram humor down readers throats cuz hey, Posehn is writing it and he's funny and a geek! LOVE IT! No.
