I dunno about Billy, but since you mentioned it Teddy kinda looks like a blonde version of Brent Corrigan to me (though my housemate is obsessed with Brent Corrigan so maybe he's just the first guy I thought of)....there are other photos where he has the same hairstyle but this is the best face match I could find that is safe for work:

This is what happens when you don't spend five years waiting for a writer who doesn't really have enough talent to be worth the wait; Heinberg's original Young Avengers stuff was, to me, like Kevin Smith's Green Arrow; If you needed to justify bringing in writers from TV and movies to comics for their skill and talent? Show them books like the original YA, Smith's Green Arrow and Daredevil, and so on.

The only trouble is Heinberg's praise apparently went to his head, which apparently gave us the WW reboot (not so bad, all things considered), and Children's Crusade, within which there was not much of real worth.

Both the WW an YA Heinberg stories dragged on for an unreasonably large amount of time and lost their "omph" by the time they concluded. Can the man write? Yes. When the editors are pressuring him to meet deadline or when he has to write a 2 to 3 issue story arc.

Really? I thought Children's Crusade was terrific! Juggling THAT many characters and getting them mostly right, while undoing an injustice done to a long-time Marvel heroine, while also throwing in some fanserving is not an easy feat, yet he managed.

It was interesting at first, but after a while it just went to shit. At some point Wiccan was replaced by Heinberg standing on a soapbox yelling about why everyone's a poopyhead for not liking his favorite character, turning almost all the Avengers and X-Men into OOC shitheads to do so (not to mention that his final way of "undoing" the injustice done to Scarlet Witch just makes no fucking sense), a very half-assed rehash of the end of Secret Wars, and seemingly just trying to break all the characters so that no one would want to play with his toys afterwards.

Overall, it just seemed like a really half-assed, poorly thought out end to his run--at least, IMO. I'm really glad that we're getting Gillen to work on these characters again, but at this point I think Chuck Austin would do something better than what we got in Children's Crusade.

I actually thought the handling of Wanda was worse than what had gone on during the behind-the-scenes section of Avengers Dissassembled where the Wasp basically caused the entire thing talking about babies. Here, in moves worse than Bendis' own handling of continuity, she seeks out Doom anyway and thinks she's even remotely capable of handling incredibly high levels of power when in her own past there have been instances where her own power has rendered her 'evil'. And it's another one of those things where I just get the feeling they'd never do it with a male character, frankly; Certainly, we had Sentry rather recently, but he never had to go through that much nonsense in order to reach the point of Siege. By contrast, his degradation into going full Void by that story's end made sense given he'd been willing to seek help from Osborn where others had failed.

I also don't think Heinberg did right by that many characters; For every bit like Teddy and Billy's interactions, there's Heinberg selfishly throwing his toys out of the crib - and toys that he inherited from others; It reeks of favouritism when the two who appear to have left the team on the most permanent basis are characters he didn't create. Again, this is just IMO, but I don't think they need to or should wait around for Heinberg again. He's just not worth it.

He didn't juggle all the characters that well and if I had to pick a point where CC went off the rails, it was when X-Factor was arbitrarily inserted into the story. (Beyond Rictor getting his powers back, they contribute absolutely nothing to the story.)

But it has problems beyond that. Wolverine was a one-note parody. Wonder Man's only contribution was giving Wanda a hug. And the X-Men are so itching for a fight I wondered why anyone wanted to side with them during the actual AvX crossover.

Wanda, even after she gets back her memories, runs into Doom's arms.

And that's without getting into the ending. So Doom kills Cassie and Iron Lad murders the young Vision in a jealous rage. The response from the super hero community who just witnessed this was "well, that sucked. Let's go home."

(And then they let Wanda go off on her own because she needs to find herself. Because that's a brilliant idea after everything that just happened.)

But because Billy and Teddy finally kissed, a lot of people overlooked the actual problems with the narrative.
