I don't think she's new. I think this is Marvel's classic Hippolyta who popped up from time to time until she was murdered by her daughter, Artume. (Who was totally not an evil Wonder Woman. Why would you think such a silly thought?)

Now Hippolyta's coming back to life because, hey, comics.

Valkyries lead the valorous to their place among the dead... presumably they could lead them back if they're feeling cheeky.

Actually if Hippolyta's resurrection is just Val going to whatever part of the greek afterlife she ended up in and tossing Hip on the back of Aragorn, that would be suitably epic.
