The stuff with Lois and Clark was really good, but yeah, this plot is basically a tip-toe away from a shitty, standard cliche' "Superman goes evil" plot.

I'm hoping for one of two things:

1. Lois doesn't die by The Joker's hands, but it is the start of what takes Superman down the path we see at the beginning.

2. If she does die, Superman doesn't immediately go into dictator mode, but other things factors into the path.

The worst part is that in so many continuities, having a child with Lois is something that is denied to Superman (whether Krptonian-Human incompatibility, or merely the issue of their respective jobs, savior of earth and busy report). This, this could be such a heartwarming storyline. Instead I feel the need to go out and enslave the world- Oh, wait that's what they're going for :(
