The end of the Spot's Reign
Jan. 25th, 2013 11:07 pmOnce upon a time The Spot was this supervillain who defeated Spider-Man (well, for one issue anyway), and instead of quitting while he was ahead he tried to defeat him again:
We start with The Spot discovering new things about his powers:

I'm not sure he's even been seen as a human again since this. Oh, and for a geeky-looking scientist he's pretty well built!
Anyway, he decides to fight the web-crawler one more time to prove himself:

And I'm a sucker for his out of nowhere attacks:

But things don't work out very well:

This was a neat three-parter; unfortunately after this The Spot became a running joke, why I don't know since his powers and design always struck me as pretty good.

Date: 2013-01-28 07:33 am (UTC)What's weird is that he went on to actually seek revenge against Spider-Man and stuff. Given his personality here, I'd expect him to be more pragmatic than that--either go legit, or use his powers for lower-profile and less violent crimes.
