Meanwhile, elsewhere, Ultra Magnus' team has run into another group of Transformers while spelunking through Metroplex's body.

Ultra Magnus theorizes that Metroplex summoned them because their ship has what it takes to jumpstart him.

And back on Cybertron, Shockwave's purple reign is still causing things to go to hell for everyone else.

Optimus is right. Rodimus's biggest flaw is his egotism and not even Ovelord's rampage (which was completely the fault of Rodimus) could humble him enough to step out of leadership.

of course the Lost Light isn't a democratic government, where a change in leadership doesn't actually change a lot. Rodimus was the reason they went on that mission and if they kick him out then they may just cancel it. If he feels the mission needs to happen then he can't in good conscience step down.

Plus I imagine it's meant as a comparison to G1 Rodimus who frequently complained about having to lead

I love Megatron waiting until he can make a dramatic entrance, it's very easy to imagine that he would do exactly that.

Man, what's with the tiny crest on Prowl? It makes him look more like Checkpoint, though even his is bigger.

Great to see Kup back, but now I'm worried about Cycvlonus.

Kind of have to agree with JLBarnett above, though I suppose Orion is right, too.

What happened to Megatron, by the way?

Honestly, I agree with Optimus. Rodimus' ego is a great and powerful thing, and his unwillingness to resign demonstrates that.

I kinda like how they refused to absolve him. No fear bug for Hot Rod!

Shame you didn't include the best part, where Bumblebee calls out Megatron for calling himself a 'freedom fighter'.

For all the gray that this series has added to the war, they've been rather consistent with how the 'Cons have lacked an excuse for a long, long time.

Yea, ancient ills does not justify unlimited retribution.

I dunno, within the context of actual conflict, then yeah, a leader who refuses to back down and absolve their command after they fail certainly isn't a good thing.
But within a fictional story, sticking it out rather than just walk away
and leave the mess to someone else can be a noble quality.
