"I'm aware that I can't really go to the big muscular takes of people like Charlie Huston or Brian Bendis -- those pieces have their own DNA, and people would recognize a cheap clone a mile off. My touchstone has been the original run by the character's creator, Doug Moench, through the Sienkiewicz collaborations up to the top of Kevin Nowlan's debut as artist." -- Warren Ellis

Moon Knight volunteers to sleep in the same building as the patients, so that he can experience the dreams for himself and figure out what's what.

Upon waking, he violently confronts Dr. Skelton:

Just FYI, Ellis's run ends with issue 6, which comes out this week. After that Brian Wood will be on the title for issues 7-12.

And we only get six issues of this why?

Because, apparently, Ellis needs a 'break' from working for the big two. Just another reason to add to the list of 'why I'm not an Ellis Fan', I guess.

Given he's never worked for them genuinely consistently except for the few years he was doing Authority/Stormwatch and Planetary for Wildstorm, I think that's a poor reason, personally. He's always worked in a basically 'for hire' capacity for the big two, and has arguably done more interesting stuff in his own properties and series. He also writes novels, unlike a lot of the writers in the industry.

I have to admit I find that a really odd perspective, that you dislike him because he doesn't work constantly for DC or Marvel.

Oh it's not that I dislike him because he doesn't do more work for the big 2, I dislike his line of reasonings and excuses like taking a break, just rub me the wrong way, especially when as you say, he's always been work for hire. I'm sure he has a high workload, but he tends to promise far more than he ever delivers on and I got fed up years ago with all that 'Internet Jesus' shit.

He's a technically proficient, rather talented writer who I just don't seem to click with on any level 90% of the time. Planetary is the big one that happened with.

Odinburger huh.

I wonder if they ever had Thor walk by, take a look at this and be like "....really? REALLY?"

Is Tony behind this? This feels like something Tony would do.

Why? Why can't Ellis stay on the book longer than six issues?!

Because maybe that's all the stories he has? In which case, good for him. I'm revising my skepticism of this book, and will probably pick up the TPB, which would make it the first Ellis title since Nextwave that I've bought.

It's all he wanted to do, sadly. Reading his tumblr, he said his intent was to basically take a Marvel property and make it viable for use. He's done that, now he's moving on.

You'd think the eye patch would be for managers. Put the lower-level drones in horned or winged helmets, maybe?

As a child I remember going to India over the summer. We were in New Delhi and decided to try the first Indian Mcdonalds. At the time they had mutton burgers, though I think they discontinued them.

I don't know, I've been pretty thankful I was wearling glasses during a grease splatter, so someone working with hot oil every day might not mind having a bit of eye protection.

Anyone remember that three-headed mushroom being from Supergod? This issue reminded me a lot of what Ellis put into that.

Reminds me, I never did find out how it ended...
