Captain Boomerang: Father and Son
Jun. 15th, 2009 03:26 pm
This is from the Identity Crisis miniseries, by Brad Meltzer and Rags Morales.
Boomerang is first introduced in #2.

In #3...

In #4...

Later...

In #5...

Later, Jack Drake receives a package from someone who knows he's Robin's father, with a gun and a note telling him to protect himself. Worried, he calls Oracle.

In #6, everyone assumes that Boomerang was the man who killed Sue Dibny and tried killing Jean Loring.

In #7, it's revealed that Jean Loring, who accidentally killed Sue Dibny and made it look like a murder, is behind the whole thing.

Also, does anyone know when Digger got overweight?

Date: 2009-06-15 11:20 pm (UTC)These parts especially. I remember reading the Jack Drake/Boomerbutt sequence for the first time and was really on the edge of my seat as Batman was just gunning the car to Tim's house. Morales' art gets the credit there. I also liked the subplot with Tim and his dad about Tim's crimefighting, too. And I pretty much loved the Owen/Boomerbutt relationship.

Date: 2009-06-16 01:48 am (UTC)It's not IC itself, but the repercussions it had on the DCU that I can't stand.

Date: 2009-06-16 06:54 am (UTC)...or maybe I read that in a fan-theory somewhere. It sounds plausible enough to me, though. Of course, if it is a fan theory, DC probably couldn't come up with a more workable story if you paid them. Which we do.
