These are from Wonder Woman Archives Vol. 3. The story was originally published in Sensation #18 in 1943. The art is by Frank Godwin, not H.G. Peters. Apparently for a time Peters had too big a workload, so Godwin did a few issues of WW and Sensation.

Now Steve Trevor has to investigate how Captain West got killed. He goes to South America on the yacht of some guy named Quito for reasons which are unclear, at least to me. He tells the Holiday girls about it, so Quito has to invite them too so they won't tell anyone what they know.

H.G. Peters must have been into bondage too. He always depicted Marston's bondage in loving detail. Contrast that with Frank Godwin's obviously rather bored take on it above.

Wonder Woman to the rescue, natch.

Etta's upside-down Mental Radio image cracks me up.

Godwin did a pretty good job aping Peter's style, but you can see subtle differences -- his linework is generally not as bold, and his figures are more realistically proportioned. I don't think Godwin did much comic book work aside from this...I wonder how it came about?

Indeed! I also like how WW can speak Inca -- did WW just automatically know all languages, or was this a nod to her roots in the classical history era?

So what happens to Quito in the end? He get roasted by his own giant glass?

Amazons were supposed to know all human languages ever.

When WW overthrew Quito, he committed suicide by jumping off a cliff.

It seems like your answer to just about any tricky situation is something that's been rehearsed in advance JUST IN CASE.
