Look, I understand the misgivings everyone has about Snyder's Super Joker. I understand why so many of you might be sick of seeing the Joker taken to such extreme, almost Batman-esque levels of near omnipotence.

But I love this. All of it. I love Capullo's art, I love how Snyder tries to weave all of his stories into Batman's overall history, I love how he involves as many characters as he can into his stories, and I don't know if I've mentioned Capullo but Capullo.

I love it.

And I'm putting money on the whole "Joker is immortal" thing being left ambiguous at the end, the Pale Man being someone else entirely (Hurt?) that Joker is just using (or vice-versa) to fuck with everyone.

I am liking this too. I always thought the Joker surviving countless times and changing personalities so often is ridiculous. At least this way it works for me and the story is good. I just want Alfred to survive.

I'm more tired of every single Snyder story having to trump the one preceding in terms of "importance to the mythos".

Look, The Joker knows who the Batfamily are.... no he doesn't, wait yes he does.

Bruce Wayne has a little brother who he doesn't remember, and who is now part of the Court of Owls... wait, no he's not, he's his own agent... or something

Big build up to "Dick Grayson's family origins are now steeped in Gotham lore"... and it's completely and utterly irrelevant as soon as it's revealed.

And here we have immortal Joker and Alfred losing his right hand? It's all just... too extreme and trying to hard, for me to care anymore (if that makes sense)

If you're enjoying it though, mazel tov!

Oh, for that would-have-been Nightwing story that could've at least acknowledged that..

I had never seen that before, thank you.

I'm not sure I LIKE it, but it's certainly interesting...

We live in a Blockbuster Age of everything, old chum. The good ol' days of low stakes and low-key stories are gone forever.

This is pretty much it for me. All this weaving makes the world seem awful small.

I think I made a mistake following this story through scans. Big moments like Alfred losing his hand just read as shock value unless you are actually reading the full issues that lead up to it.

I think I am going to stop reading these things until I can get the trades.

Ugh, a couple of scans of the reveals and a lot of negativity do not do this title justice. Though I think many titles look worse if you only read the scans posted.

So every single piece of buckshot magically missses joker except one that grazes his head? No, I'm sorry, that's just blatant Pulp Fiction divine intervention bullshit.

Based on the trajectory and motion lines in that panel, I'm pretty sure some of the ought to have pierced the back of his skull.

Why would a military chap like Pennyworth even bother with a tricksy headshot? Just fire for that sweet center mass and once it topples the fellow keep shooting them for a while. I mean, he's blatantly trying to kill the dangerous criminal already.

Snyder's Super-Joker can still go die in a fire (but knowing Snyder, that'll just make him more UBER POWERFUL AND SCARIER OMG for some reason), but I love the idea of Batman having to team up with his worst enemies to thwart the guy.

Kind of a shame that the dream of Alfred blowing the Joker's brains out is somewhat divorced of reality.

Actually, I wonder if this spot was supposed to be a "take that" of that sequence.

A little odd that Snyder decides to use the rogues as grunts-with-special-powers rather than characters.

(I say 'odd' and mean 'predictable', since this is a habit of his and Hickman's, especially where their pets are concerned).

At the very least, Bane should make some snide comment along the lines of "Release all the Arkham inmates at once as a distraction? How original."

Well at least the Joker's face is still back on his head. Not sorry to see that silliness go on its merry way.

I don't mind bad things happening to the Batfamily, Alfred included. We need the occasional jolt to make sure things don't go back to the time when everyone was safe so long as they weren't out fighting the Bad People. Though that shotgun spread is appalling and preposterous, and it's getting increasingly tired how predictably 'unpredictable' the mercurial Joker is, at least it isn't another random girlfriend getting offed to make Batman feel sad.

Again, what actual fall out in the Batfamily have seen from Dick's "death"? Sweet FA, that's how much. Not even a sign it altered the family dnynamic in any way,

Well, considering the fallout to Damian's death was contained to the Requiem issues (Which really just felt like DC making sure everyone knew it was definitely canon, due to the whole issue of having Damian die in an unrelated story to the crossover they'd just done) and the Batman And -- series, it's not like we should expect much anyway.

I've recently binge-read the entire volume and I'm loving it. Really liked this issue too, but not happy about Alfred's hand. Which of course I'm not supposed to be, but yeah... poor Alfred.
