Nice commentary on the Lex stops being President becasue... well, because he suddenly went completely batshit insane and started frothing at the mouth ranting when on live television.

I still like the JLU line, where Luthor reveals his plan to run for president plan was entirely fake because "Why would I want the job? Do you have any idea how much power and infulence I'd have to GIVE UP if I were to become President?"

The notion that President of the USA is too limiting and underpowered a position for Lex amuses me no end! :)

Being president is a come down for Lex, who on his own time, runs his company like a fiefdom. Being president means giving up that freedom: all sorts of unsavory characters (elected officials, retired people, boy scouts) have claims on your time. And you can't very well hie off into whereversville for villainous adventure whenever you like, can you? You've got meetings, and press conferences, and peace in the Middle East to worry about.
