Toronto is a part of Canada. A blanket statement such as "move to Canada" seems to imply that the entirety of it would be suitable to the purpose stated, whereas that is clearly not the case.

Just the Toronto vs The Rest of Canada thing, and neither party wanting to fall to stereotypes about Canada (ie, "when you think of Canada remember it's not just about Toronto," and "remember, we don't all live in igloos, Toronto is pretty hot."), it's a conversation that only Canadians could have. And that makes me smile.

So, they were drawing up the maps for North America and they were trying to decide what to call that big space over the top of the States, and they couldn't come up with anything so they collected some scrabble tiles and had a guy pull them out of a hat. I remember a friend of mine had the Betty and Veronica Go To Canada special, and no matter where they went it was covered with two feet of snow. EVEN IN VANCOUVER!

FWIW, I'm in Ottawa and it gets damn hot here in the summer. Like Toronto, there are only two seasons, Too Hot and Too Cold.

Heh, that made me laugh. There was another one where they were all laughing at Ron for bring her fur coats to Vancouver in July. I distinctly remember how "the warm Chinook winds keep things nice and hot down here".
