So, what WAS the Orange Lantern oath, which the the creators said was their favourite of them all. Was it just "Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!" a la the seagulls in "Finding Nemo"?

That's what I've "always" thought it's been, and will continue to do so until it's written otherwise.

For extra points, it still has the same meter as "In Brightest Day . . ."

Mine minemine mine, mine minemine mine
Mine minemine mine minemine mine mine
Mine mine mine minemine minemine mine
Minemine mine minemine mine minemine mine!

OT...ish.

Your icon there points out a problem with the fairly consistant aesthetic of the new corps' symbols when existing symbols are put in - NONE of the existing symbols properly fit within the aesthetic.

The Green symbol is chunky, where the others are, for lack of a better word, delicate.

Most of them are composed of lines, hollow circles, and open curves. The Star Sapphires have a (mostly solid) starburst.

7/8 have a circle in them...the Black symbol lacks one. (Interesting that the Sapphires have the circle (in the form of the hole in the centre), when it's not part of their symbol in other depictions...)

Well, Ethan van Sciver said there was a meaning to the circle in the symbols, so...

The circles are suns emitting light, while the Black Lanterns get a prism absorbing it?

I remember in GL:Rebirth that Hal said something about choosing a ring, a cicle, as the conduit for the Green power because it was a symbol of life or somesuch.

That explains the addition of the circle (well, hole) to the Sapphire symbol, and if enerprime's explanation is the correct one, its lack on the Black Lanterns' symbol, at least.

They're all simple pictograms, tho. The Green is a simplified lantern. Violet is a star, Red is a stick figure raging at the skies, Blue is a hug, Black is a skeletal hand.

Looks lke the circle size is symmetrical. The two on the end are very small and so forth.
