And it should come as no surprise that this comes in the form of two panels from Grayson #9

I refuse to believe they're not doing it on purpose.

(That's not a criticism, just an observation)

First off.. as Dick and Agent 1 infiltrate a museum...

I'm pretty sure I read that fan-fic.... I may even have WRITTEN that fanfic... in my head at any rate.

And a couple of panels later we have Dick pondering a question that I think we've all wondered a time or two....

(He MIGHT be talking about his bow tie of course, which we know Dick has had problems with in the past, but....)

Though the rest of the issue (aside from the single page I posted a couple of days back, and a couple of fun pages of Dick flirting with a duchess for specific plot reasons, and proving that he's a rather dashing dancer too) is a rather dark setup for the next arc, I know some accuse this series of being fanservice-y... to which my respsonse is "Yes, and?"

It's hella different, but I love just how Dick has basically become the James Bond of the DC universe. :D

That reminds me of how DC tried to do the same thing with Steve Trevor in the New 52, though maybe that was more Nick Fury than James Bond. Either way, Grayson has been so much more successful than that bland and dour attempt.

All Fury, no Bond.

He's really channeling Ward from Agents of Shield here. Only likable.

That is the best thing about AoS.

Not to mention, they didn't drag out the 'Imma make you love me Skye!' thing for too long, and actually had him move on and find love elsewhere (if one considers what him and Kara had 'love' and not 'manipulating an emotionally damaged woman you feel kingship with', of course).

Though, I liked that about AoS Season 2 in general; story arcs moved forward and didn't get dragged out to keep to a status quo. Far too little shows are willing to do that.

H. Jon Benjamin's voice, suitable for either Agent Grayson or evil idiot Superman Ultraman.

DC would never do it, but if they really wanted to be bold they'd 'out' Dick, a major character for 75 years, and make him at least bisexual. I'm guessing Roy would be okay with that! ;)

Great fanservice panels, though! :)

For the love of the multiverse, can't there be room somewhere for such a thing!

I remember a while ago someone pointing out how, while it would probably work for the character, it might cause issue due to the frequency of 'Lol, Batman and Robin are GAAAY' jokes and the controversy that caused when the idea was first brought up by Fredric Wertham in his 'comics are evil' tirade. DC are probably afraid of adding any validity to either of those two, even if Dick being bi would make tons of sense.

Though on the flipside, he does work as 'that really nice straight guy that all the gay guys keep falling for and he gently, carefully lets them down because he's used to it. And maybe he's gone on a date or two with his guy friends when their date stood them up and he didn't want them to be alone.'

Sure, him and Roy making out would be *so hot*, but I'd keep that in the imagination.

Winnick basically said that WB won't allow that. Shame!
