Besides the mini-event The Trial of Jean Grey, there was also another event that was connected to Legendary Star-Lord... and it was Black Vortex. Let's just get into folks...

On some planet twelve billion years ago, this alien race called the Viscardi are trying to send rockets off their planet, but they keep exploding before they can reach past this Godhead thing they worship. One of the aliens yells at Godhead, saying they just want to know the cosmos like it does, which the thing responds by making a mirror.

Then in the present, Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde call in the X-Men and the current Guardians of the Galaxy (which include Captain Marvel & Venom at this point) to tell them about a situation they wandered into. It happened when the couple was raiding one of Mister Knife's ships.

He has the alien guy submit to the Black Vortex and...

Before Thane can submit to the Vortex (since apparently it'll give him power to kill Thanos), Kitty & Peter steal mirror.

So we come to the present...

I believe she gets a vision of herself destroying a planet... and then we cut to the past yet again, where the alien woman of the Viscardi from before, Gara, is yelling at Godhead. She says her whole race submitted to the Black Vortex and now everyone is dead....

Next scene returns us to the present where all of the characters are arguing over whether or not they should destroy the Black Vortex. Then bad guys show up.

And the comic breaks out into a fight scene.....

That's a wrap. Next time is Guardians of the Galaxy #24.

I'm among the few people here who actually liked this crossover (and the previous one, 'The Trial of Jean Grey'). Sure, this wasn't great, but rather decent with some good art, cool designs, an intriguing concept (if not a bit underutilised, with the titular Black Vortex bbeing little more then a plot-device/MacGuffin) and an interesting chapter in the Star-Lord/Kitty Pryde romance (particularly the ending).

What did you think of this, good sir?

This still seems like a more sci-fi take on the Mirror of Erised (from Harry Potter).

I was more thinking that 90s film "Quest for Camelot", what with the giant upgrade transformations.
