I find the notion that Marston believes DC has no damaging effect on the human body as opposed to AC fascinating. I would have thought the current wars would have been over by 1942.

I understand that was a result of Edison's (who invented DC) feud with Tesla (who invented AC). One of the more bizarre results was an anti-AC ad against Tesla's company Westinghouse with a convict who was led to the electric chair yelling: "Don't Westinghouse me!" Meaning he would rather be killed by a chair with Edison's direct current.

Yes, that was what I meant by the Current Wars... :) I thought Edison's FUD about AC vs. DC would have been debunked by 1942, which was almost 60 years after...

It is funny: when I posted this before, I'm pretty sure no one remarked on that particular detail.

I knew about the current wars, but I've only ever seen reference to them in one book, of the hundreds I've read, so I'd guess they're not common knowledge. Probably science nerds are more likely to know about 'em, but I'm a liberal arts nerd.

I am vastly amused by Wondy's line about 'where you keep your Japs and Nazis'. The way she's posed, and the way she phrases the sentence, makes it look like she's dropping in for a social visit, and is just DYING for a certain popular type of cookie or something.'Oh, darling, I've been rushed off my feet all day - I'll tell you about it in a minute, but first, where do you keep your Japs and Nazis'? Ah, ain't political incorrectness grand...
Also - "Ye Gods and little fishballs!" I love Steve's neverending series of oddball exclamations.
