What IS an egg-hat ?

I want to know what an egg hat is. Wikipedia is unhelpful and google suggests something which doesn't match the art.

This (http://www.recipezaar.com/Eggs-with-Hats-on-Top-54677) is pretty much what I had in mind, though I agree it doesn't match the art here.

Is it still fridging when it's a villaness that gets randomly cut down?

Date: 2009-07-14 02:31 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] majingojira.insanejournal.com
Disposable woman is disposable.

It's not a classic fridging. It's more "I kill a minion randomly to show how EVIL I am!" situation.

Yeah, but before breakfast? That's just rude. If I remember this series, Grim gets the ever-loving snot kicked out of him by the good guys. They weren't updated on his current power levels, and thought they were facing him with his undead powers.

Frankly, I have a hard time caring about someone named "Saboteur" who's an explosives expert, but doesn't have her costume boobytrapped to blow up in the face of someone who kills her and/or lets a known psycho get within striking distance of her. That's just sloppy.

I don't get ape-guy. His body is furry, but why does he have a head within another head? Is that something cosmetic, like a hat that he just puts on in the morning? Or does he actually have two heads?

I don't get it.

Welllll

that's a bit creepy isn't it. And just think of all the care that must go into keeping a dead skin looking supple and alive, especially one with all that fur.

I am going to take your word for it. Thanks for the link but that article is a bit tealdeer and I didn't find the word "skin" in a search. :\

Okay, at the risk of sounding like a grump... I really get annoyed when writers treat the fact that a character is minor as license to write them however they please, without regards to their previous personalities or backstories. The Man-Ape is a native Wakandan and doesn't use phrases like "I dunno," and the Grim Reaper, whose motives for crime revolve around brother's death and revival, isn't the stone-cold sort who'd just kill someone for no good reason.

Then again, to be fair, I haven't read anything involving these characters in a long time, so maybe they've changed in the interim.

That could probably be attributed to Priest's influence, which had a number of Wakandans feeling very comfortable speaking in modern English, complete with modern English argot. Priest's version of Erik Killpower sounded fairly American, and Man-Ape has spent a good long while at this point in America being a supervillain.

What a random slaying...I've seen a lot of villains randomly offing partners and henchfolks, but that one stands out. I'm not sure why - it's a pretty typical example of the trope - Pissy Villain's pissy, HenchPartner tells him to chill, he offs them in a rage - but something about this one just feels MORE random.

Maybe it's Man-Ape's annoyance about the mess, I dunno...
