And the list of characters Beechen should not be allowed to write grows ever longer.

A team up of Blue Beetle and Hardware shouldn't be this lackluster :(

But hey! Did I mention Blue Beetle and Hardware in the same sentence :D?

You know, this Hardware character really needs someone to give his armor a paint job. It's a total mess.

Well, I'd say, yes he pretty much did. Check out the covers here (http://www.comics.org/covers.lasso?SeriesID=4923)

He's got a bit more red here, but it's not THAT different.

... Jaime doesn't speak like that. Paco might, but seriously? "Totally a hormone thing"? Picking Batman over Superman?

It was his first big team-up and he saved the universe; I'd be willing to give him a pass on that one.

Also, Beechen.

Actually, given his interactions with Batman, and the pride he has that BATMAN thinks he's doing a good job, I'd say that picking Batman over Superman is a natural. Superman is cool, but he's nice to everyone. Batman is scary, and if he's nice to you, you've really arrived.

It could also be a little tip o' the pen to his cartoon incarnation, who's a flat-out Batman fanboy.

True! Being liked by Superman is no big deal. I mean, he likes Lois of all people, loves her even, and she has hardly ever done anything nice for him.

Batman is scary, and if he's nice to you, you've really arrived you are probably a pretty teenager of the appropriate age.

There, fixed that for you.

Well, he did marry her. Her post-Crisis takes-no-shit-from-anyone attitude was one of the things that attracted him to her.

I keep saying, Batman's measuring Jaime up for a Robin costume. He's probably got one made up already.

Imagine Jaime in the Batcave, working on a case with Batman, coming across the costume.

"Oh hey, a Robin costume!"
*Tries it on for shits and giggles*
"That's weird, it fits perfectly. Now I think about it, who was it made for? It doesn't look like..."
*taking it off, notices nametag 'Jaime'*
"Ummmmm."
*Batman walks in*

Awkward!

Oh well, I like post-Crisis Lois, from what little Super books I've read there... It's more that the "default" Lois in my head is the harridan from the silver age. (Though, admittedly, everyone was a jerk back then.) And either incarnation is not someone I would personally get involved with. And my "default" Superman is modern, so... Clark really is too nice for his own good sometimes.

I keep saying, Batman's measuring Jaime up for a Robin costume.

I don't want to know what the scarab's reaction to that would be! (On the other hand, he could put the Robin suit over the Blue Beetle one... that'd be awesome.)

He's probably got one made up already.

J: "Wow! For me?" *puts on* "Wait! Tim's has tights..."
B: "Well, this is the uh... retro model. Also, Tim threatened to sue me for harassment."

Man, it's such a minor nitpick, but...nobody outside of elementary school has "social studies." Jaime is somewhere in the ballpark of high school junior. He's probably taking U.S. history, possibly AP U.S. history. Not social studies.

I totally forgot this book came out this week, and I'm kind of glad I did. Jaime deserves better dialogue than this.

That depends, this Blue Beetle is worried about his grades. The real Blue Beetle is worried how he will be killed if his grades slip. The man has a cane. I believe he lets people think he needs it so it is always at his side.

Unless you're taking high school courses in Canada. We have them up to at least grade 11. >_> (Our highest high school grade is 12.)

Unless he has had more than one class with that teacher. I took 4 different social studies classes with the same teacher, so I would have definitely called him a "social studies" teacher. Same way I took 3 different math courses with the same teacher as well, so he was my "math teacher"
