Weren't Kory, Vic and Gar in this incarnation of the Titans? Of course, it would be difficult explaining away the cyborg and the green-skinned former child star. To say nothing of the alien supermodel ex-fiancee.

Gar wasn't but the rest are. Argent and Damage aren't in the scene either (might be hard to explain Toni) so I'm guessing it was more "who's free to annoy Dick!"

Speaking of Gar and the Titans, was he just not asked, or did they ask and he turned them down to focus on his acting career? I've seen both explaintions.

It's basically the original 5, except Jesse is swapped in for Wally for some reason. They'd be the most likely to just pop by since they've known Dick (and where he lives) the longest.

Jesse makes more sense. She's got more time, being not-a-parent nor on the JL, she has more diverse powers then Wally, and she needs the field experience and training the Titans can offer.

She apparently moved out of Bludhaven before it went ka-blooey, so she's not on file as dead, but she's long since left Dick's life.

Too bad. It was one of the few things I liked about the comic at the time, which was not to my taste about the time the guy who had his head twisted backwards lived to walk around with his head still backwards. I still picked up an odd issue now and then, but mostly ignored it.

But I was hoping for a Dick/Clancy relationship. She's so cool as a character.

She's a psychiatry resident in New York, and ran into Dick during while he was based there. She gets a few panels of face time, then is promptly forgotten for the rest of the series.

Speaking of which, I wonder what happened to the headquarters Dick set up at The Cloisters. It'd be a waste if he just left it to rot.

Jesse Chambers AKA Jesse Quick, daughter of Liberty Belle (she took her mothers name after Infinte Crisis) and Johnny Quick. Runs an empire and hangs with the titans and has a pretty good friendship with Dick and Wally, as she's a speedster too.

Funny that the first thing I was noticing was the clothing. I'm glad to see Clancy's wearing sweats too, although when I wear sweats I don't usually pair them with a tight belly-shirt. Dick's outfit looks really comfy.

I love the way Roy seems like he almost feels it's his duty to play the part of horndog. It's kind of a quasi-wingman thing here. It makes Dick look more like gentleman by comparison.

And yeah, funny how all the not-regular-looking folks couldn't make it.

Though I think Dick looks far too muscly and big-chinned here. As does Garth to me. I love them showing up to hang out.

I'm blanking suddenly--Clandy doesn't know Dick's Nightwing, right?

I know, that's a nice call back to him doing that back in a teen titans run back in the late 80's, when Dick thinks something is wrong because Roy isn't trying to hit on someone around him.
