Ultimate Iron Man is a Dick
Jul. 21st, 2009 08:37 pmContext: Norman Osborn (who in this universe turns into a Goblin monster instead of dressing up like one) and his merry band of Spidey villains stage a coup on the White House. The Ultimates intervene. Needless to say, in the final stages of the fight, the Goblin's the only villain left standing. Nick Fury pulls out his trump card.

Meanwhile, Thor has taken down Electro and the rest of the Ultimates congratulate him.

Good job, Tony, you stupid drunk. The whole point of getting Harry was to appeal to Norman's better side and make him go quietly, and just when he's in the process of turning back to normal, you blast him in the back. Then his already traumatized and mentally unstable son watches as his father is brutally taken down in front of him. And Iron Man could care less that his actions caused all this.

Date: 2009-07-22 01:24 am (UTC)They shoulda just have added "Dickery" to the end of every series' title.
"Ultimate X-Men Dickery!" "The Ultimate's Dickery!" etc.

Date: 2009-07-22 01:57 am (UTC)From what I'm reading here, it seems like Harry was truly there on his own or Fury hadn't told any of the other Ultimates about it. It's possible he either didn't hear Norman about to break, or believed he was making a ruse (and if the Ultimate version's anything like the 616 version, he would have definately used it as a ruse).
So which comic is this? It sounds like it's a Spidey-centric arc, but it's clearly not drawn by Bagley.

Date: 2009-07-22 12:50 pm (UTC)I don't think that he could see that Osborn was turning back into his human form from behind - that shot was designed just for the goblin genetic sequence, and it should have just taken Osborn down temporarily
this wasn't even a kill-shot or anything
this is basically like a cop using a taser on a guy with a gun and not knowing that the guy has a weak heart
