Oh no, did Carol survive? Did the character with her own ongoing series at the time survive?
Truly, a stirring drama for the ages.

And don't those row upon row of bright red screens add so much to the proceedings?

The bit with Ares' boast is kind of impressive.
Doesn't make any damn sense, but it still sounds impressive.

"Oh no, did Carol survive? Did the character with her own ongoing series at the time survive?"

You could say the same for nearly any cliffhanger featuring an a-list character.

And indeed I probably would.

It's not always about survival, though. Sometimes living can seem like the worse of the two options.

Plus, it's not like Marvel doesn't start and stop so many ongoings that they might as well be minis to begin with (which is really what they should be doing).

*shrugs* To me it's always "How will they get out of this" as opposed to "Will they get it out of this". Otherwise you might as well not bother with anything from the Big Two because you know things will eventually work out unless they're on Perlmutter's shitlist.

OMG can Frank Cho get any worse. Carol is literally straddling a giant phallic object that explodes.

I mean, seriously, did the editors at Marvel not see this or did they just not mind? I really can't tell.

They didn't care. They knew what they were getting with Cho. As did the audience, particularly as this was the era where Cho had done his Shanna miniseries, as I recall, and repeatedly hinted at a MAX-style version where the title character would be naked. Because, you know. That's necessary.

"I led the battle of Agincourt against the French."

So Ares is Henry V?

That gets me thinking things I probably shouldn't bother with. Such as how a war god would choose sides in a battle between civilizations neither of which was his own and therefore neither inclined to serve him. Or why he would choose sides. Or what would happen if other cultures' war deities got involved.

I guess the Christians are fairly safe, their god doesn't get involved much. At worst, you're going to get someone like Michael involved. But when both sides have the same religion, you can probably screw around a bit without that happening.

The more I look at the pages from these comics the more I'm convinced this is BMB and Frank Cho creating a parody of a super hero comic.

Though like i asked before, how much is it BMB and how much is it Cho?

I gotta think the ass shots is mostly Cho.

Oh, I don't doubt the cheesecake is all Cho's idea. But I have to say plot wise Ultron possessing Stark's body and turning him into a woman like that just seems kind've silly to me.

A superstrong flier, with energy absorption powers stopping a missile is heroic don't get me wrong, btu there's not much of a threat there, agter all, the worst a missile would do to her is trigger an activation of her Binary powers, wouldn't it?

On the other hand...

Bucky did it first mind you, with a V2 in WWII, but that didn't end so well.
