Oh and Bomber Bill too!

That's right cause Bomber Bill is mad. REALLY MAD NOW! Seriously could Michael Bay have given us this dude in his live action movies? He seems so perfect for them. Anyway, Soundwave transforms as he and said Constructicons get to their mission which is:

Devastator knocks out Huffer. The Decepticons begin to send out a signal, thus enters our hero. ONE MAN, ALONE, ABANDONED BY THE COUNTRY HE LOVES...

The Decepticons decide to clear out, considering their mission a success. Bomber Bill and Huffer bond over that they have much in common. And that about ends Devastator's first appearance. Issue ends with Shockwave failing to bring his next Decepticon creation, Jetfire to life. Furious Shockwave begins mulling the possiblity Optimus means nothing to him not thus termination is in his future.

Two more issues to go and this Shockwave arc ends. I'll be posting them together. Till next time.

Ah Devastator, always one of my favourite combiners. Predaking was cooler, but Devastator set the standard! (Never warmed to the designs of Bruticus, Superion and Defensor, though Menasor had a cerain je ne sais quoi)

Infinitely better than whatever the sand sucking thing that called itself Devastator in the movie was.

And you're right, Bomber Bill was MADE for a Bay movie.

Actually, just noticed I got my "likes" the wrong way round! Bruticus was the Combaticon gestalt, and that's the one I liked. Menasor was the Stunticon gestalt and they weren't nearly as interesting.

I always liked the Stuntacons best. At least cartoon and toy wise. Hell, if anything showed why Rodimus Prime sucked big time it was the episode where the Stuntacons (All of which have different severe mental illnesses) outsmarted him and tricked him into giving them the Matrix.

Plus the one time they had the big Decepticon gesalt vs. gesalt battle, It was Menasor who was the last big bot standing.

I think my favorites wound up being the Technobots and Computron, once they hit the scene.

The standard God awful art from the US Transformers comics, made even worse by Nel Yomtov's shonky colouring work.

In fact, the US published comics were all pretty poor, in my opinion. American kids didn't know what they were missing with stuff like Time Wars, Target 2006, In The National Interest and Dinobot Hunt.

And then when Furman and Senior took over the US book, they still had to put up with Yomtov's colouring, rather than the pretty, pretty Steve White stuff that had accompanied most of Senior's TF UK work.

I always liked Defensor the most out of the combiners, simply because he was the first one I had all the toys for. Also, Blades's brief appearance in another UK only story, Ancient Relics, made me a fan of the character.
