Normally, I would not pimp for Google but this is fun.



For Comic Con, Google has released a bunch of comics themes - Batman, Fables, Iron Man, etc. You can see them all here:

I chose Women of DC and today it has had Wonder Woman, Black Canary and Renee/The Question.

What makes me crazy is I can't figure out how to choose one image within a certain theme and KEEP IT that way! Does it have something to do with the "rotating the theme" thing? Bah. Some of the images are much better graphic design-minded than others.

They just rotate, unfortunately. I've had mine on the cosmic layout for a while, and I like it a lot, but it's rather capricious about changing the picture.

They should keep a googledoc of everybody's fake names or something, and then make people use it. It'd take ten seconds to make sure nobody's already done an ersatz of whatever company you want or add your own new one so everybody can easily find it, and would make the universe more coherent and believable to a level far out of proportion with such a small set of details.

Huh. I got this the Women of the DCU theme yesterday and today Powergirl's showing up on my screen. I want Diana, Dinah, and Renee!

Not that Karen's not cool, but Canary! Wonder Woman! Question!

The more times I see that panel, the more bizarre it strikes me that Hel would even ask that question. For one, that's not the kind of thing she even cares about in the first place, for two, it shows a weird and ill-fitting lack of trust in Babs, and for three, even if she were somehow worried about where Babs was getting her info, she wouldn't say it in front of Infinity and Misfit. Too strange.

He was a freakin honeymoon after McKeever, though, which had me glossing over a lot of small things at the time that stick out to me more now.

I took Batman Reborn because I can't have everything. Not Clark, because I'm not into the world of Krypton, I'll check it out in a trade maybe. Not Diana, because it's not just Diana. Maybe should have gone for Tony. Peter is glaringly missing, I'd say. JLA pleez!

With Batman Reborn, I got Batgirl (Cass, of course. I said Cass! Lalala!) first, her big smile with creepy stitches in her skin. Then a cool shot of Dick after he stirred up the bats, then Dick and Damian, then Batwoman. No Gotham Girls Sirens yet.

Heh. Is it just me? If you blinked, you missed that Babs was in and out of Platinum Flats, and Dick had to pack up and leave the museum in New York right after the housewarming party.
