Come off it, mate, you can't be the Phantom. You're not grinning, not firing off guns in every direction, and certainly not a bright purple dildo-looking Em Effer.

Clones, time clones, time travel, merging the official universe with aspects from What If-!? / Elseworld realities... It's all we seem to get from the Big Two these days. Heck: These last two decades. But it's just seems to happen more and more often.

Phantom's motives here are similar to Karson DeWitt. DeWitt's father had engineering idea ahead of the time but he died. DeWitt thought Stark stole his father's ideas to make the Iron Man armor.

Wasn't this also the motive for Whiplash in Iron Man 2?

It was, only in that case it was Howard Stark who allegedly betrayed Vanko senior.

Something like "Ho Yinsen used what he remembered of Kearson DeWitt's father's work to create the first grey armor" would be interesting. It was "save everyone from Wong Chu" instead of "theft of intellectual property," but DeWitt didn't know that.

Kearson DeWitt's motives were supposedly clear in ARMOR WARS II. "Stark stole my father's ideas" was added in an Iron Man annual since his motives were NOT clear in ARMOR WARS II.

And a few robots would capture Jean Grey in Dark Phoenix mode HOW, exactly?

Time travel does let you choose your point. Offhand, I'm assuming this is something like "Robots grab Jean Grey right after her psychic duel with Xavier," or some such.

She would have been naked and powerless (thus useless for his purposes) at that point. The timeline is pretty tight, she was mostly mid-battle with the X-Men or zooming off into interstellar space while she was Dark Phoenix. Maybe he could have caught her unaware while she was in her parents' home, but she'd have the power to reduce his robots to loose atoms with a thought, and Doom's time platform doesn't exactly lend itself to stealthy ambushes.

"I have problems with a rich guy in a robot suit. How do I beat him? I know, I'll use a time machine to kidnap an unstable woman who eats stars."

Really hope the villain is dead at the end of this. He's way too dumb to live.

Ah, that makes more sense. AIM and HYDRA aren't Nazi offshoots; they just hate people.
