Aw, no scans of where Noh-Varr calls them out for IvX, short as it was?

In the spirit of the punny Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck TPB names, I'm holding out hope that the Royals trades will all be named after Lorde lyrics. And yes, that includes naming one of them "Ya Ya Ya".

Goddamit, every time I get that song out of my head, this series triggers it again. :)

It's a generic design overall, but I can't help noticing the hooded guy's staff is oddly similar to that of DC's "Mr. Oz (Totally Not Adrian Veidt You Guys, No Way)".

They seem determined to ignore the fact that being Inhuman is as much cultural as genetic. Especially egregious as Karnak is a prime example of that. As far as I know, no one has ever looked down on him or considered him not to be a true Inhuman, even though he never went through the Mists.

Hell, they talked Quicksilver OUT of exposing Luna to them, and she's no less a princess for it.

So yes, no one else will get new forms and powers, but their basic cultural identity can endure.

I think a lot of Karnak's past characterization is built around him being an oddity by inhuman standards.

It's true that there's more to them than their powers, but since they consider their powers their birthright, it *is* a huge blow to their cultural identity. I can see why they'd seek out ways to preserve that.

You're not wrong. It is a big part of their culture. But it still raises the question of what makes an Inhuman. Is it culture or Teregenesis? Or are the two too linked to separate?
