"I thought Britain would probably not leave the EU, but that the campaign would surface a lot of grim stuff. Which it did. And then Brexit. And I knew exactly which way the U.S. election would go. So, here we are a year later, with a book about secret power structures." -- Warren Ellis

I don't think issue 3 has come out yet. Can we post this many pages?

With the way that Stormwatch organizes themselves using Sefirot, I'm having a hard time not picturing them as the SCP Foundation.

That's IO, actually.

That bit about the macroeconomic fallout of rich folks going off the power grid bothers me. Ellis seems to be trying to be clever, but it sounds like an attack on something that actually makes power cheaper.

How much progressive pricing is in the electrical utilities sector?

How deep are the free-market assumptions in Ellis's analysis, and what's stopping continuing public subsidies of a city power grid?

I don't think we're necessarily supposed to accept it as true, but the line he's been sold on.

That makes sense because he knows he's tried to kill an innocent person on the behalf of a powerful organization, he feels guilty about it, and he's trying to justify his actions to himself.

Also, traditionally Marlowe really wasn't the most egalitarian businessperson to start iirc. So yea, he *would* market his batteries to rich people to live off the grid... sure, there'd be positive knock-off effects and long term is almost certainly superior, but it's enough of a fig leaf to hang a justification on.

Ellis didn't come up with that on his own. It's a takeoff on a developing issue in Hawaii, where the power grid is tiny and expensive because they have to import all the resources for generation. That gives a lot of well-heeled natives a lot of incentive to install solar panels, but as they do so, that raises costs for the remaining customers on the utility grid.

Is Cash's partner in those last couple scans Kenesha? Because if so I like that redesign. Looks more like both her father and grandmother (if all that is still holding true which...is greatly in question with this reboot).
