Gotta say, the tone here is fucking perfect for this show.

Though I'm slightly miffed that Tyrone's pre-Cloak stutter seems to be absent.

Maybe they thought it would come across sounding silly, or the actor had trouble pulling it off? Sometimes what works in a comic doesn't translate well on the screen (i.e. Yellow Spandex Wolverine.).

Oh, I'm really interested in this! I've been interested in Cloak and Dagger since their appearance in Runaways, but I've heard the comics were extremely uneven and kinda gross at times.

I hope that the TV series will be something I can get into, kinda cutting through the continuity issues that make the Big Two hard for me to get into these days. Thanks for showing, Icon_UK!

it's kind of the issue with only appearing sporadically in three decades and never having a chance to establish a clear status quo

Yeeeeeah. And Kate Beaton covered the creepy racial issues pretty well.

Cloak also falls into the same category as Cyborg, the "young black men with no genitals" superhero club.

True that -- and for budget reasons, they'll probably give Cloak a body in this adaptation anyway. In the trailer alone you can see him standing with his cloak billowing out behind him.

What I'm saying is, it's not too late for them to give him a skateboard.

In the 1980s, Bill Mantlo wrote them as being willing to kill drug dealers since Drugs Are Bad.

This looks very promising!

I wasn't expecting much from this but it looks really good. Can't wait to watch it

My only issue is that Tandy's crystal dagger thing looks like a cheap prop. But I'll adjust

When people ask me to sum up Cloak & Dagger I always say "Don't Take Drugs, Kids... Or You'll Get Superpowers" (Captain America is a close runner-up, but that's more steroids).

Honestly, it looks like it can easily find an audience, given the success of CW's shows, so here's hoping.
