When Johns rebooted the JSA, one thing I liked about it was how all the characters from different eras got equal focus. The old JSA members, the new guys, Infinity Inc, etc. No character was treated as more important simply because they came 'first'.

Here...not so much. Freakin' hell, Paige/Husk only gets focus so that Toad, the damn janitor, gets a subplot?

It's actually quite sad that so many people forget he's been a pro villain almost as long as freakin MAGNETO (X-Men #4, 1963). When needed he will freaking throw down.

He's been a professional villain yes, but 90% of the time he was just an underling who got kicked around. Not even the Ray Parker upgrade lasted long.

Really, if they were gonna give Toad his own subplot, it should have been how being a mutant has led to everyone around him exploiting him.

Toad was shown as smart enough to use alien technology, yet Mags only used him for grunt work and dropped him in an instant. His powers have singled him out for abuse constantly, and the X-Men make no effort to help him integrate into society

Instead of a Beauty and the Beast retread, why not address his legitimate grievances?
