" Look at this! Look at what it looks like. "
" Oh, for- that's not what I intended! "

One of those conversations that has happened before and will happen again.

Sheesh, Ennis, defensive much?

Thank you though for posting that letters page. I wouldn't mind seeing more examples of letters pages posted here. While online discussion of comics is super fun, I think something was lost when publishers, using the Internet as a pretext, dropped the letter columns so they could run more ads. There was a better signal to noise ratio, for one thing.

Moving on... two of my favourite moments from the series are from this issue: ( a ) "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." --"Great"; and ( b ) "Miss."

Finally, D'Aronique is a textbook example of how one can be genre savvy and still end up losing. And dead.

The fact he has those moments of clarity (if that is what they are) made me like the idea that Humperdido is the genuine article, just completely unmarketable to the masses. Also I had the hope that when Saint of Killers and God meet at the end, Humper would be sitting on the throne.

+1. I'm glad to see the objection was at least addressed, albeit not as I might have liked.

I liked those two parts as well. Plus, "give it another fifty feet and bank left" is just intensely amusing in a dark sort of way, given the context. Like, you just know what he has in mind.

The way they do Jesse using the word is great and totally replicable with cinematography, so it kinda sucks that all they do on the show is a voice reverb effect and Jesse just shouts it a lot of the time.

Don't wanna read the last scan, I've developed an allergy to author defensiveness.

I love how defensive Ennis is. The whole comic is him trying to be offensive as possible and he has a rape scene played for comedy but he gets upset when someone takes issue with it.

Maybe he thinks the best defence is a good offence?

...I'll see myself out.

I see Marseille was a keen student of the Prometheus school of running away from things.
