Parallax seems to be less and less of a threat over time. Eventually it's going to end up getting minimum wage at a seasonal haunted house.

First of all, I love your avatar. I miss Iron Chef. :/

Second, it happens to a lot of villains. Galactus got taken down by The Ultimates way to easily, and what young Jean Grey does in that Generations book is downright silly.

My friend called if Worf syndrome, where to make someone look tough in Star Trek, TNG, they beat up Worf. The problem was after a while people didn't look tougher, Worf just looked like a wimp. I think it wasn't until his appearing on DS9 that Worf got some of his cred back.

So these universe-threatening bad guys start looking like chumps in an attempt to make the heroes look tough, but it has the opposite effect.

Man, it was so great, watching Worf get his groove back in DS9. Good times.

Sadly, his role as The Convenient Asshole largely remained.

I remember Linkara's review of "Cry for Justice" where he points out the scene of Hal and Ollie defeating a group of high-power supervillains off-screen did not make them look tougher, it only made the scene confusing.

Man, I haven't watched a Linkara video in a while. I fell out of the habit. And "Gay For Justice" was an excellent set of vids. :)

But yeah, that's an excellent example.

Third scan, fourth kinda looks like Egg-Fu. Now I'm getting flashbacks to when he had strapped a naked Boomerang and Sasha Bordeaux to a table to eggsperiment on them.

Is there anything more scary than creepy kids?

Oh yeah. Comics artists who are used to drawing heroic anatomy often seem not to get that children are proportioned differently from adults, and those differences become more extreme as you draw younger and younger children. (Source: am a graphic designer/illustrator that works on children's textbooks.) You can't just draw a grown-up at half size and call it a day, that zooms right into the Uncanny Valley.

Yes Bryan Hitch, I was looking at you and your creepy-ass Richards children that changed age from panel to panel as I said that!

"A minute longer. That's all it takes."

Closest we'll ever get to Superman versus Pennywise that isn't Yellow Lantern Joker. This is hella aces.
