The little part of him that broke when his parents died and he couldn’t put back together. That’s all the Joker is. It’s Batman without love. The Riddler is the opposite of that. It’s the detective in him. That utterly logical, has to get things done, has to solve this problem [guy]. It’s Batman without the humanity. -- Tom King

considering the two of them are mercenaries, I imagine them actually having a casual conversation as they try to kill each other.

I guess Deathstroke is such a skilled marksman he can aim his rifle with the eye that's no longer physically there?

On Scans Daily it's never just you...

It would have actually been a brilliant misdirect at some point if Slade's good eye had been under the black part of the mask, if he reversed his mask or if an author had switched which eye he lost in a reboot or something. Like if everybody knows you only have one good eye, why advertise which one it is? Have the big obvious white lens over the bad eye and a subtle, hard to spot black lens over the good one. That way when someone has the easy idea of going after your good eye they'll aim for the wrong one.

In Deahstroke's origin story, it was established that Slade simply didn't care who knew that he was missing an eye, because he was simply that good.

And really, it makes sense.

The casual mooks Slade kills aren't smart enough/skilled enough to exploit that weakness.

The guys brave enough/smart enough to take a direct shot at Slade would know which eye it was, so they wouldn't be fooled.

Aside from the feeling that respectful professional rivalry being a much more interesting line to go with, again, the desire on the writers part to crank up the bodycount irritates me.

These are the "best of the best", assassins who are paid to kill individuals, not to cause slaughter in the crossfire (unless they're paid for that too). Them refusing to kill the other if it means that innocents (or "freebies" in their parlance) would die would impress me more than "lots of people killed in random crossfire" ever will.

Yeah, I just - neither Slade or Floyd would spray fire indiscriminately into a crowd. Yeah, somebody might get shot in the crossfire, absolutely. But neither one of them would intentionally gun down random people, and neither one of them randomly sprays fire. That bugs me a bit.

This a flashback, or is the giant, purple cat back? I sure hope not.

It's a flashback. Year Two-esque story.

So Deathstroke and Deadshot, guys who made a name for themselves by being super skilled assassins who never missed, decided that firing a machinegun into a crowded area was the best way to get a job done?

Second day, okay, they purposefully opened fire on a crowd, I cans see how that would lead to deaths, even if it's out of character.

How the Hell did the first day result in four crossfire casualties? Neither Deathstroke nor Deadshot is that poor a shot.

I'm more hung up on the "Five days" bit. Deadshot is a top-tier marksman, but one-on-one versus Slade there's no way he lasts more than a few hours at best. Outside of marksmanship, Slade outclasses him in every way, unless Deadshot's costume makes him outright superhuman now.

Deathstroke didn't make it into the Injustice 2 video game, as far as I know.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Deadshot's "I was in a movie!" superpower.

What? There was never a Suicide Squad movie. What are you talking about? Never happened. Don't be silly.
