"The best among us"
Well, f... you too, McCoy.

After reading this comics, I often wondered what would have happened if the heroes recruited by Rule 63 Adam were not brainwashed into submission, but were just made to believe that the "goddess" was either Odin, or Jesus, or the Bright Lady. Would some of them have followed her?

I still find it a little odd that "Rule 63 Adam" was in no way connected to Her/Kismet/Ayesha

Ah, back when Sue had the "4" cleavage window. I'd forgotten how stupid that looked.

Hercules looks odd without his beard.

Was Sue's faith established anywhere? Because this is the only plotline I've ever seen addressing it

There was a "What If" where she became a nun after a horrible tragedy.

Yeah, but did she make a habit of it?

...I have no shame, none!

Looking back on this with adult eyes, I'm dazzled by how well Stalin writes a not-exposition-dump that still is an exposition dump (beautifully laying out not only the Goddess' plan/view but also necessary character beats/elements for each of her recruits). And, additionally, how creepy the whole approach is... there's almost a cult aspect to it. Very good, subtle stuff.

Starlin, not Stalin. :) (Stalin's sort of comic would be... very different to this)

Good GOD Sue. How much do you want to bet Reed forced her to wear that outfit (in between being sexist as usual of course)

Also Jean Grey looks a little.....Cher-esque. That face.

IIRC, she wore that it to get Reed's attention. Also, I think she might have been reverting to Malice or something.

I think he was dead most of the time she wore it

When one cosmic cube won't do... several dozen cosmic "shapes" will definitely suffice... for overkill.

The '90s were not kind for fashion design.

Are you kidding?? What is there to hate about leather jackets and boob windows?? ;)

I understand why you'd want Daredevil, Wolfsbane, Black Knight, and some of the others in a holy crusade though it does seem like some of these came out of nowhere (since when is Spider-Man religious?). What I don't get is why "Madam Warlock" is recruiting actual gods; brainwashing Thor, Sersi, and Herc just seems to be begging for retaliation from various Pantheons.

Also Doc Strange is just going to leave her for the next deity that bats it's eyes at him. He likes to play the field.

I'd be suffering too if I was wearing... whatever it is that Sue is wearing.

In retrospect, it's weird how well Infinity War and Crusade work as "time capsules" for '90s Marvel.

I love how they took the time to write Quasar out of this one. Gruenwald probably refused to let Starlin kill Quasar a *THIRD* Time and this was probably the result.

(though to be honest this might've come out while Quasar was still sorting out dying in Infinity War.)
