Preview Blackest Night: Superman
Aug. 15th, 2009 07:57 am IGN has the cover for Blackest Night : Superman preview.

Now THIS is appropriate, what a super-powered zombie attack should be like. This feels like the horror of having Michael Myers or Jason running around, with people unaware of the deadly danger until it's too late.

It clarifies just why they want Barry so soon--efficiency in mass numbers. He's racking up the energy percentage. This guy is a pure, unstoppable killing machine, systematically killing the town one by one, and just seeing him registers lots of juicy fear.

Date: 2009-08-15 10:37 pm (UTC)The only way that can make sense seems to be an overall count of all the corps kills...
Though on the contrary, i'd think death might need more than 1 million kills to power up, especially if it's spread out over the whole universe, but ok.

I read Michael Myers, and thought Mike Myers. Then I got a truly lulzy image of Austin Powers chasing Jason with a chainsaw.

Date: 2009-08-15 04:44 pm (UTC)Cause you think that would make his secret identity really obvious. Who's from Smallville and currently lives in Metropolis, like Superman? Gee, Clark Kent is. Who married the woman Superman seemed to be in love with? Wow, that's also Clark Kent. Damn, this is weird...

Also: his dad just died. There's another possible excuse.

Date: 2009-08-16 03:28 am (UTC)The Black Lanterns have tried to kill Green Lanterns when they've registered will; every Green Lantern they've attacked has had that emotion (except for Guy, who registered rage.)

Date: 2009-08-16 04:11 am (UTC)Though really, if one of these fuckers is coming at you, you're gonna be feeling SOMEthing.
But the whole point of their talking to their prey before killing seems to be to make sure the emotion rises. Which is why they talk like angry versions of themselves. Except the clue in all this that Nekron, not they, are talking is this: DOLPHIN COULDN'T TALK. Yet she says plenty, even with most of her head gone, during the Mercy Reef attack.
