This is from Superman: Secret Files 2009. It's written by Greg Rucka and illustrated by Pere Pérez.

We see the flashback from Action Comics Annual #12 from Ursa's point of view.

To be fair, this is the first "real" Zod post-Crisis.

Because DC went about making it so Superman was the sole survivor of Krypton, they did stuff like the Matrix-Supergirl and whatnot.

The first Post-Crisis Zod came from a Pocket Universe. The second Zod came fron an alternate reality created by Brainiac 13. The third Zod was a Russian who was affected prior to his birth by Kryptonite radiation because he was the son of two cosmonauts whose ship was too close to Kal-El's rocketship. The fourth Zod came from an alternate Phantom Zone.

This Zod is the Zod from Superman's Krypton.

'Real' or not, that's still five Zods. That's too damn many Zods. Why can't they just pick a Zod and stick with it?
