Positive Comic Week- Batgirl and Spoiler Sparring

I thought what happened next came in the very same issue, but nope a fight with Jokerfied Shadow Thief erupted with Cass kicking his behind so badly she almost killed him. There's a great scene of Cass literally freaking out and Steph coming onto this giving Shadow Thief CPR and reassuring Cass he'll be ok plus she won't tell Oracle or Bats of what happened on the roof great scene.

Also I just love this scene above with Cass training. The look in her eyes as she opens them are just so Batman-like and she's so in this Batman type of mode that.


Well seven issues later:






Another training session goes off between the two and again tommorrow. I really love the look on Cass's face during all of this. She goes from boredom from above to amusement to pure enjoyment hence this:




Steph then tells Cass what's bothering her. Pretty much her pop Cluemaster and explains, "whose like the Riddler only with dumber puns." and why she became Spoiler. Being that it's Father's Day she couldn't help but think of their current relationship which then sparks the question from Steph:




Except Smash Brothers on Wii, which someone in DC should make that cannon. Issue ends on a doner as Steph tells Cass she has to end their sessions due to something that went on in Robin book with Tim. And no way am I ending it with sad puppy Cass face.


Because one post of Steph and Cass moments aren't enough.

That would be awesome. Especially since they seem to be trying to keep the current Batgirl's identity from us, so it's totally possible that there could be more than one and Steph and Cass are both Batgirl. Hey, a girl can hope can't she?

Dear God, I love the art in Batgirl. Thank you for posting one of my favourite scenes. Stephanie isn't by nature a Bat (thank heaven) but she's brighter of spirit than even Dick, and in terms of sheer dogged determination is almost equal to Bruce.

Well, maybe because the bat family never interested me, but... damn, this is awesome. I will need to check this out. Does anybody know whether there are trades out there, or if it's backissue hunting time?

Much of the Batgirl series has been traded. There are a few issues missing here and there, and some that were part of crossovers were printed in those crossover trades, but most of it's available. "Silent Running," "A Knight Alone," "Kicking Assassins," and "Destruction's Daughter" are a few that come to mind, as well as the Batgirl/Robin crossover "Fresh Blood."

But please don't get "Batgirl: Redemption" by Adam Beechen, he's the writer who sent Cass off the rails in the first place, and that mini made it even worse.

I'm a little surprised no one is objecting to the long narrow pointy eyes on Batgirl there. Maybe because the character is sympathetic, it's not seen as racist.

I really feel sorry for Alfred for having to clean up after all the Bats, even it they weren't total slobs like Cass. Where does he find the time to do all the cleaning and butlering and Bat-maintanence?
