Resources

At Scans Daily we recognize that not everyone starts from the same place in discussions about privilege and discrimination. We have put together a list of resources to help us navigate this difficult area. Additionally, we've included some netiquette and slang guides, and other helpful links.

LJ Communities | The 101s | Privilege | Conversation

This list is only a start. If there is a resource you would like added to, or removed from this list, please let us know. We consider this project a work in progress to be updated and revised on a semi-regular basis.

So I checked the Internet Slang Dictionary and I still have no idea what "motto" means. Is that just a funky in-joke way of saying "ditto"?

That's more specific to Scans_Daily.

The Scans_Daily motto is - "It's never just you."

No, because a shit-ton of comms besides this one use that expression. Trying to credit s_d with "motto" would be like trying to credit Terminator 2 with inventing the phrase "Hasta la vista, baby."

Well, we made it look good.

Considering how long S_D has been around, and that the use of the term 'motto' was meant to indicate just how often someone said, "Is it just me--?" and someone "You are not the only one!", I'd like to see an older group who had the same giggly, poking fun, female-support dynamic habit.

When people use it here that's what they mean, anyways.

What would be your explanation for the term's etymology, if it wasn't scan daily's motto?

Jesus Christ, FINALLY, that's been bugging me forever.
