These are a few of my favorite things...

When Batgirl 1 bites
When Jeph Loeb writes
When I'm feeling sad
I simply read MA Avengers
And then I don't feel so bad

Alright, so I read through some Marvel Adventures Avengers as research for a Peter/MJ story (Plug! So cheap!) and here are a few things I now know I love.

Jan!

Jan-sized hugs! (And Hank likes it, although who wouldn’t like being scrunched up against Storm and Janet Van Dyne?).

Spidey!

The Dark Avengers, MODOK-style!

Jarvis not keeping the Quinjet clean Snakes!

Spider-stand-up!

Logan's squee!

Hawkeye!

Armin Zola's body!

Luke Cage's momma!

Mini-Marvels!

Tony Stark fishing (with science!).

Ka-Zar learning to drive!

Avengers in time!

Tigra's (nonexistent) power over cats!

sure hope zola's chest-screen isn't susceptible to screen burn-in.

What's this? Superheroes being fun and amusing? LIES! SLANDEROUS LIES I SAY! XD

"This is long before recorded time."

"Quick! Record it!"

That may be my favourite exchange this year.

That Mini Marvels strip made me laugh far more than it should have. Poor unhappy Super Skrull.

Please tell me this is collected.... Pretty please!

I...don't even read Marvel and this is the most awesome thing I've seen since Young Justice.

Right. Getting this NOW!

Also: tags are useful for people who know nothing about a series. *hint, hint*

Thanks loads for posting these!

Are there trades of this? Because this is some seriously lovely wacky hijinks!

I saw that preview image before I knew what was being posted.
It didn't really register until I had paged down a couple of times, and I only caught a glimpse.
An orange catlady ordering shirtless, muscley dudes to attack a dark haired woman? Oh god. (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/690409.html?thread=17288937#t17288937)

I've considered posting some Mini-Marvels but I'm not sure how the rules apply. Some stories are posted in different sizes in different issues. I think that Super Skrull one had been both part of a five or six page story and also a single page gag.

Marvel Adventures Tigra _really_ likes dresses, doesn't she?

I love this!

Thank you for these. =)

Luke Cage being dragged by the ear by his mother is absolutely gut-busting hilarious! Seriously, there should be more stories with Mrs. Cage; we need more kick-ass grandparents and parental figures in comics like Alfred Pennyworth and Aunt May and Master Splinter.

But I'm a little disappointed in Luke and Tony trying to cheat at the fishing bet. Seriously, whatever happened to "may the best man win"?

Luke Cage's mom . . . extreme win!!!

Will anyone ever remember that I'm really, really smart?!

Oh, Peter! :)

"Quick! Record it!"

So much love for MA Avengers!

I just bought the first four volumes on Amazon!

[identity profile] geoffsebesta.insanejournal.com 2009-08-21 04:58 (UTC)(link)
This is great!

I like Logan's squee moment. Captain America does what America does best! Hire foreign mercenaries to perform acts of obscene brutality against ethnic minorities.

:)

<3 MA. I bought them trades for my cousin and I steal'em to read whenever I'm at their house.

[identity profile] faile_neume.insanejournal.com 2009-08-22 09:34 (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOSH WHY DON'T I OWN THIS.

BRB BUYING ALL OF THIS.

MA:A is win and love. MA in general is win and love, even though it's got a few more flat notes.

comick shoppe has a spin rack full of all these all-ages books. I need to just pick up whatever i can. I don't even know why I stopped buying them, they are hilarious and free of baggage!
