Date: 2009-08-23 03:16 am (UTC)She *is* the payroll person.
And even if she's not, say she does have an account/HR person on staff, it's still *her* responsibility to ensure the payroll goes out on time.
Look, I'm sure you love the character to death and such, but she's no good at running a business. Just face it.

Date: 2009-08-23 03:26 am (UTC)Sorry, I've got no sense that any of the problems they've mentioned are meant to suggest any flaw in her. If anything it's meant to suggest people panicing over minor things

Date: 2009-08-23 03:28 am (UTC)Payroll is *not a minor thing*. It's simply unacceptable from any business, regardless of its size or what products it is working on. It's (most likely) a violation of the law.
I don't know where you work, but if I phone up your boss and tell him not to pay you for a few weeks, how would you feel? Would just just say, "oh it's just minor thing whether I get paid or not."
This is my last reply.

Date: 2009-08-23 03:41 am (UTC)We're in the flooring business. My father used to subcontract out and in that case the companies he worked for paid his first paycheck the second week he was there. Not two weeks at once, but just pushed back a week, so you'd end up with a paycheck a week after you stopped working there.
So for me it's no big deal as long as the money comes, which she made quite clear it was going to.
