Maybe if I was more of a fan of Superman, I'd appreciate the story more, but it just seemed like Moore wanted to fit in every major Superman character in what was a pretty slim volume to begin with and lot of it seemed rushed.

There are many Superman fans who can explain this better than I, but this story isn't, I think, in continuity. Unless there's some weird Super loophole I don't get.

As far as I know, modern Krypto is the last survivor of a Silver Age-style Krypton that Superman found in the Phantom Zone several years ago.
