Dark X-Men: The Beginning #3
Aug. 27th, 2009 12:00 amHow did Norman get everyone's favorite shapeshifting freedom fighter to join his X-Men team?
This is from Dark X-Men: The Beginning #3, written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Jock. It's sort've a follow-up to Jason Aaron's "Get Mystique" storyline, which involved Cyclops siccing Wolverine on Mystique after the events of "Messiah Complex," causing him to chase her all over the Middle East (where he got the Taliban to help him out) before he gutted her and left her to die.
Continuing from where the preview left off...

There's this page.

Mystique takes out the bikers.

The last page shows Mystique and Norman leaving the bar, which is surrounded with hundreds of soldiers and several tanks.

Raven lives to screw with the X-Folk.

Maybe the X-bloodlines will get a little more inter-twined.

Date: 2009-08-27 04:42 am (UTC)Which to me indicates they're getting as ridiculous with Mystique as they have with Wolverine. Since when has she been an uberthreat in combat? The whole point of Mystique was that her shapeshifting powers meant she could go anyplace and make you think she was anyone, allowing her to stab you in the back. Her Raven Darkholme identity allowed her access to all sorts of goodies produced by the US military and intelligence agencies even without pretending to be say Nick Fury and swiping some new toy from SHIELD or what have you. She was more like Mastermind, someone who wouldn't get her hands dirty directly unless she really had to.

Date: 2009-08-27 04:44 am (UTC)that said, considering how daken's trying to go all machiavelli on everyone in dark wolverine (daniel way not completely sucking for once), mystique er, "mentoring" him might be all kinds of interesting.
